living together

in winter the house was dark
by 7pm, we kept the curtains
closed and the heat stayed in
with us. each one of us slept
late and the lights in the
living room were turned off
early, so we could retreat to
our own rooms and our beds.
somehow we were more tired
than we had ever been before.
we looked in mirrors with
economy bulbs, which we bought
to save money and the planet
they had a hard light. we
did not like it and stopped
buying them, started buying
eggs free range at twice the
price. there were four of
us. me. she. she. she. we.
we made a group decision not
to be a group. we left our-
-selves out of the process.
our relationships were not
certain, they were fractured
and unsure. in the mornings
there was never enough room
in the kitchen. we shifted
through the shower and the
toilet and sitting on the couch
with fried eggs, a bowl of
cereals. the year went on and
on and we knew more clearly
what we was, we had charts
and lists and days of the week.
finally we all felt at home
and quickly it was spring.



eh. this needs more stuff done to it but I'm tired.
