MATH105

MATH105 exam this morning. It was my full-year course, it kicked my ass and I was so lazy I probably deserve to fail...
...but I don't think I did. Thank ye gods and fishes.

However, I just found out that the exam I thought I had this Friday, ENGL105, I really have Monday; and the exam I thought I this monday, LING102, I really have on Friday. This sucks for a multitude of reasons:
-I was actually going to do LING study with Cameron tomorrow, who is the best study buddy ever, the sort who is really dedicated and works really hard outside of class and comes along to the study session and teaches you everything in five minutes flat. It's all kinds of awesome, but now I shall have to cancel. Because...
-I haven't started English study yet and while with LING I could definitely bullshit my way through it and come out with a fairly great mark, I have a feeling Huw is going to be curiously resistant to this kind of bullshit. Even about Shakespeare. SO I really do need to study hard for this one (and I actually want to, as well, it's been a fantastic course.)
-To give you an idea of how much work I have to do? We studied six plays. I've read one and a half. Holy shit 48 hours to go.
-I absolutely have to have an encyclopaedic knowledge or Henry V.
-It's worth 60 percent. SIXTY PERCENT. WTF, English Department!

So yeah, if I don't see you all after Monday I will have died in my English exam. ;)

In non-uni news: I haven't been watching the GOF snips and trailers and photographs and caps and whatnot because of not wanting to pay for the d/l costs (and also... not caring that much), but seeing how many there have been just recently: is there going to be any of the movie left? Seriously, people.

Yes, she often speaks of you. :D Oh, ling. Was actually planning to major in ling until pols came along, so I love it a lot. Also, much love for the mention of apostrophes in your userinfo. (I saw 'it's' used as a possessive in a published journal article the other day. Madness!)

Biology left me smiling actually...rather suspicious. And yeah, I'll see you Friday too, though I don't think I'll know who you are. Bizarre stuff. :D

:D

A published journal article? I mean, yes all different languages and slangs can communicate equally, yes language is evolving, but journals are supposed to be the bastion of grammatical correctness. >:O

:D hee, well, it can't have gone too badly then, right? *bashes head against Nation State videos*

Oooh, is the nation state stuff kicking your arse too? I'm pretty sure I've got the communication, language shift, gender and folklore stuff down but the nation states are awful. Belgium and Canada particularly. How are you doing on language acquisition? I can't find many readings on it.

Good luck for tomorrow if you don't see this before then!

You're making me cry with how clearly dedicated you are, but yeah. It's just all the details you get in Nation States (plus, oh, the fact that I've done about 5 hours study. *facepalm*) I didn't do language aquisition- I figure, there's three questions, one of them will be either Goffman or gender, which are the topics I studied for Section A. Section B is politeness/nonverbal, right? And I really like politeness, so that's cool and it'll definitely be in there. Language shift/diglossia/code-switching I think I'm okay with, so I hope I get one of those for C instead of Nation States :P and section D I'm doing linguistic human rights, because I am lazy and it'll be easy to make up.

...I am so, so slack. *winces* Good luck to you too!
