Life, music, etc

God, remember when I used to have a life? Yeah, not so much anymore. I'm working two days a week as well as (supposedly) studying- it's the third week of term and I haven't done a goddamn thing so far, and have due
-Maths assignment this Friday
-French assignment this Monday and another one a week after that
-Phil essay in, like, a month. But it's a massive essay and the required reading for this class is measured in tonnes, I exaggerate only a very little. Also I'm terrified of writing a philosophy essay because I've never done that before, so look forward to posts babbling out extremely incoherent thoughts about, you know, Skepticism and Objectivism and that kind of stuff.
-THANK YOU, LOGIC A, for having TWO TESTS be our only assessment. Yes, I'll be shitting myself the weekend before each of them, but oh my god no weekly work and no required reading and no testbook- okay, there's a textbook, but the lecturer told us that he wouldn't be assuming we'd read it. Oh, Prof Copeland, thank you for not having any faith in us to do our work...

(In other notes about said prof, he completely has hobbit hair as previously only witnessed on such notables as Blythe Press. There's a photo on his profile: that is completely what Blythe is going to look like when he's forty, yes/no?)

Things I have and have not accomplished this week:
-baked two cakes, one for Rex and Sam's birthday, and one for Ben's farewell party.
-Got lots of compliments on said cakes, I am a goddess, etc.
-Farewelled a dear friend returning to Scotland. :(
-Skipped THREE french classes, approximately one and a half more than I can really afford to...
-Sat at a table on two Clubs Days and succeeded in getting nearly FORTY new members for Bel Suono choir! Rock! By the way for those on my flist who signed up, bowling tomorrow at 7.30, if you have a car bring it, check your email, et cetera.
-Have not had more than six hours sleep a night, generally somewhat less- it's not that this is unusual for me, just that to be happy I need at least seven.
-worked! I'm doing about 13 hours a week at a Caltex down here; a four-hour shift thursday afternoon, and all day Saturday. It shoujld be manageable- I hope. Pay is biweekly, which sucks; some of my coworkers seem okay. They're mostly all guys and they're all a little... odd, as employees of said evil chain tend to be (members of flist excluded- or, well, no. ;))
-Saw Aeon Flux- not worth the money, although as [livejournal.com profile] sixth_light and I agreed, the premise was okay and it could have been good, but then they got distracted by Charlize Theron's... everything and forgot all their science. *facepalm*
-Saw Brokeback Mountain, for free- but I will try to see it again in theatres because I liked it a lot, and we saw a pirated version so I feel guilty. More thoughts on that... aw, who am I kidding? Never. But it's completely worth the ticket and I will add I saw it with several heterosexual guys who liked it a lot as well. SO THERE.
-helped cook a roast; cooked a superlatively good marinaded chicken
-watched Bones and Commander In Chief, which are the Flat Bonding shows. much love.
-Got bittorrent, d/ld most of Birds of Prey, read through several issues- like up to 55 or something. Cooool.
-also read some later ones thanks to the kindness of strangers on the internet; a fandom where they're nice to the newbies, can it be real?

I have a feeling there was some other stuff in ther as well, even less interesting, but I'm repressing the memories. I MISS MY FLIST, I am trying to read it semi-regularly and semi-succeeding, so my commenting rate should go up. Posting rate is not likely to but, considering this post, are you sorry?

Thought not.

I watched Bones mostly so that I could giggle to myself whenever David Boreanaz got his Angel on and kicked a door down.

Commander in Chief? Waaaaaaaaaatch The West Wing, I demand it. Snappy dialogue and awesome acting and just yay.

Dude, me and Lucy spend about five minutes after each episode discussing the degree of Angel-ness they went to each episode. :P

It's not shown here, or if it is it's at some ungodly hour... :( I'll try to find the DVDs sometime.

I would totally airmail mine to you if that didn't cost like... eleventy-zillion dollars. But yeah. It's really good.

I've actually never watched Commander in Chief, and I'm being a bit irrationally "My fictional White House is so much better than thiiiiiiiisss!" toward it. So I really have no right to talk about it.
