I don't like the word Pakeha, but it has nothing to do with it being a Maori word or me feeling negatively towards Maori. I'd just rather call myself caucasian, if we have to state race. We all COME from somewhere, right? The Maoris haven't lived in New Zealand forever. Even their legends tell us that they discovered the islands.

So if we're ALL immigrants, why can't we just put what race we are? not european or white or pakeha, but going to back to scientific racial terms like plain old caucasian.
