I hope you're right about the numbers; and, yes, that is kind of sad. The only explanation I can think of is that bullshit the bill's proponents are spreading about how it'll make it easier for employers to hire risky job prospects, like, presumably, Maori. Never mind that a) it'll actually just make it easier to *fire* Maori and b) total bullcrap. *sigh*
