1. Saying things really loudly in class can be great fun. Do not let this experience turn you off. All badness stems from having forgotten the assignment.

Take the last time I said something really loud in class. It was during a social epistemology lecture.
Twit: "I think that the United States gets a better range of news, because they have the whole spectrum: CNN and Fox."
Me: (turning to glare over my shoulder) "WHAT?!"
Rest of class: (silent, but some of them nod at the exclaimation)
Lecturer: "Um. Well, perhaps that would be true if we substituted PBS for CNN... but let's move on."
The moral of the story is that, sometimes, people are just going to run their mouths off and you've gotta come in over the top.
