Guys guys guys, I seriously just had to wiki Trig to remember that sin A = opposite/hypotenuse, cos A = adjacent/hypotenuse, tan A = sin A/cos A = opposite/adjacent.

I seriously forgot SOHCAHTOA. I'm losing my mind :(

F-forgot SOHCAHTOA? *holds you* It's clearly the Lone Power's wicked entropic powers at work. OMG FIGHT IT LABELLE.

o.O That's POSSIBLE?

It's okay, I wiki sec^2x - tan^2x = 1, and all the half-angle and double-angle formulae. --''

Our maths teacher set them up in one of those cute little physics triangles so I've never forgotten the order...what they mean yes but not the order

You will do fine ! *hugs* I'd offer to come with treats today but we have an inspection so..its the Cinderella act for me today. We still on for Thursday I hope... :)

I'M TRYING. :( curse him and his way with my memory.

apparently! I think it's not having used it for three years that did the trick. :-//

my calc textbook has all the trig identities in the back *except* sohcahtoa, it's otherwise really good.

I used to use them constantly and I would NEVER have expected to forget them. :-/

I still rely on the distance/time.velocity physics triangle, though. :D

argh, I didn't really, but it's OK, it was my last exam, so. :P yes yes yes, can't wait; it's gotta be afternoon though if that's OK.

[identity profile] lady-larla.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Well I can certainly do afternoon, but I dunno about Lucy. I'll come anyway and we can do something fun ! :) Let me know a good time. By the way Lucy's post yesterday - all I have to say is GAH! (didn't think that would contribute much though)

Yeah, my calc textbook was just okay. It was a monster of a textbook though, but the Bio ones are worse - I weighed my Bio textbook last week, and it was SIX POUNDS. It weighs as much as a LAPTOP plus CABLES. --'' My calc textbook though had all the trig identities. . . on different pages. . . throughout the book. . . so to find certain ones you had to flip through it like crazy and half the time you wouldn't even find it again. --''

Oh wow. It's been so long since trig, I'd forgotten that I ever knew that.

[identity profile] chattycheese.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Wha...? I will never forget that, and I blame my frosh geometry teacher in high school. She told us SOH CAH TOA, and majorly hyped this joke, all year long, that the Trig teacher had. We were all excited for it, we waited another two years, and when we finally heard the story, it was the most anticlimactic moment of my life so far. Hyped for the whole year, as the best joke in the world, it want summat like this:

Once upon a time, there was an old Indian Chief. One day, while he was out hunting buffalo, she stubbed his toe on a very large rock. This amde him cross for the rest of the day, and he didn't catch anything while hunting. When he came home to his tepee, his squaw tried in vain to brighten his mood. Finally, she begged him, "What do you want to do? You're so unhappy! Tell me!" And he replied, "I wanna SOA CAH TOA!"

Oh! He wants to soak his toe! Oh, I'm laughing so hard! ...oy. Hence, I shall never forget it. So much buildup to so much letdown. *le sigh*

Dewd I know. He makes me concentrate on characters and their backgrounds when I SHOULD have been paying attention to the periodic table and chemistry class. (Possibly his influence made my teacher so awful as well?)

[identity profile] chattycheese.livejournal.com 2007-06-29 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
*g* thanks! It's pretty funny now, thinking back on it. God, we were so dramatic in high school. Tee hee.
