Not many tips, cos I died like a wild thing by acting like a berserker yet insisting on creating clerical characters....
Check whether the rest of the players are RolePlayers or Gamers. The mix can be infuriating.
Look up and read "DM of the Rings" and "Darths and Droids" to get an idea of the sorts of ways games go.
Let me play if I'm ever in Christchurch....
