*flail*

SAM and the BITING and the RIDICULOUSLY OVER-MUSCLED (actually, a tad too much for me? but, um.) and the GRATUITOUS CHEST SHOT (and, hi, Emmanuelle Vaugier, you didn't do that much for me although I loved your hair but I have to say, that shot had some fine angles for you. Fiiiiine.)

And, you know, the CRYING. Dean's SINGLE EMO MAN-TEAR, wow, show, can't you give him a couple tears? real men cry. And, man, really, this was just... very emotional. And, okay, yes, maybe a little heavy? But not in the Croatoan way where it was just. too. much blunt-instrument pain. That was more like... club pain, this is more like... hammer pain, which is a lot more focused and also, can be used for, e.g., building things.

Where was I going with that metaphor? NOT TOTALLY SURE RIGHT NOW.

I was slightly bugged by Dean's total lack of concern over Glen, and actually Sam's lack of response - if he's oh-so-principled... there could have been a little more guilt and introspection - and if you're really going to compare Sam with the werewolves at least take it all the way, you know? Although I don't think the comparison really stands - bar possession, which lycanthropy really is I suppose but incurable, if Sam goes bad it will in some sense still be him going bad - his choice, however forced or manipulated. Unlike Madison and Glen, who had no conscious control over their actions when in, um, werewolf form - and may I express my distaste at said form? Jeeze. ACTUAL WOLVES, plz. HP&POA did a bad thing for the werewolves of this world. We are not Teen Wolf on Campus, here.

I adored Dean in the last scenes. And Sam, too, of course, but Dean was extraordinary in a more subtle way, I guess? So protective, oh Dean.

I was frustrated that they didn't investigate the whole locking up thing. It is possible to create rooms and cages out of which wolves cannot escape; also very strong things like elephants or gorillas or... so why not werewolves? Time-delayed doors... it could be done with a little investment and, let's face it, a life in hock with a mortgaged house to pay for the cage in the basement is better than no life at all.

But I forgive them in the end because mmm, delicious angst. I'm sure at some point next week I'll have a more thorough analysis of what this means for Dean and Sam all worked out but really, right now, I'm kind of stuck on the precious. And the hawt.

ETA: holy fucking shit, I really hope my fucked up cut tag didn't get anyone. if it did I am SO SORRY and I prostrate myself to your righteous wrath. :(

Dean at the end.... wow.

Jensen totally knocked it out the park on the understated body language (and I'm a sucker for the emo man tear). It was a goodie.

body language! Yeah, I forgot to mention the body language on both their parts - Sam with his walking aways was particularly... and Dean coming up behing Madison... um. guh.
