So, how do you like my new cardigan?

Pattern is the obscenely popular February Lady Sweater, which can be gotten free & is a really easy quick knit. I knit it in Naturally Tussock (the 10ply). Probably the best thing about knitting it was casting off and getting to immediately wrap it around my shoulders to stave off the chill. It is super-comfy and on the big side so I can really snuggle into it (it's not a bug, it's a feature...) and very warm! Although I think it probably won't do as outerwear in windy Wellington weather. Still, how clever am I?

Date: 2009-03-16 05:11 am (UTC)HAH, it's totally my parents' place (and it's only swanky because we've lived there for a million years and they've done SO MUCH work on it it's not funny.) I love that you think I could afford it as a flat though. :P

Date: 2009-03-17 09:13 am (UTC)I took it from the knitting icons community, and I've just realised I forgot to credit, but it was there for public usage so I'd say perfectly takeable.

Date: 2009-04-02 04:33 am (UTC)I Knit and Purl
(to the tune of "I Kissed a Girl" by Kate Perry)
I used to mock my mother’s hands.
Her hobby bugged me.
She said her needles stopped time’s sands
And kept her mind free.
She told me her method—
“Why don’t you try it out?”
I did it like she did,
And now I can shout—
I knit and purl and I like it.
I even use a yarn swift.
Knitted and purled just to try it,
And now I don’t want to quit.
Guess I was wrong.
My mom was right.
Finished my blanket tonight.
I knit and purled and I liked it.
I liked it.
The first step is called “casting on”.
It’s the beginning.
And by the time your yarn is gone
It’s like you’re winning
It’s not just some fool’s game—
It’s very practical.
I made you a sweater.
I’m one domestic gal.
I knit and purl and I like it.
I even use a yarn swift.
Knitted and purled just to try it,
And now I don’t want to quit.
Guess I was wrong.
My mom was right.
Finished my blanket tonight.
I knit and purl and I like it.
I like it.
We knitters learn the garden stitch
And while we’re knitting we can bitch.
I think my fingers have the itch.
Too good to deny it.
And I am glad I tried it.
I knit and purl and I like it.
I even use a yarn swift.
Knitted and purled just to try it,
And now I don’t want to quit.
Guess I was wrong.
My mom was right.
Finished my blanket tonight.
I knit and purl and I like it.
I like it.
