Well. People like to conveniently ignore this fact. But.

One of the greatest bands of the late 80s was fronted by Dean Warham who is a New Zealander, born in Wellington. The band? Galaxy 500. They were extremely influential -- nearly to the level of The Velvet Underground, if only because they repopularized the sound of the VU.

Now Dean Warham is fronting Luna (http://www.fuzzywuzzy.com). This is a band that isn't quite as great but equally worth listening to. I highly recommend the album _Bewitched_.

It is too bad that the two bands didn't actually form in New Zealand but nevertheless it's Kiwi blood behind the music.

OMG I was actually thinking of making a banner- I love NZ Music- with lots of them on it, like Bic and CH and the Finns and Scribe and and and all of those types.

Channel Z got turned into the Kiwi Music channel, which I think is like... 91.7 in Wellington. I can't get reception on it it Christchurch :( which sucks because it's a really good station.

I make them, mostly, although I also pick them up from awesome places like book_icons or iconfly. Of the ones I have right now, I made this one:

(lyrics from one of my favourite Bic songs) and this one:
with text from The Science of Discworld by Pratchett and a bunch of scientists (pterry wrote that one)

and deutscheami made the one I'm using right now ^^ it's a line from a book, I think Deep Wizardry by Diane Duane. It's about heaven, sort of.
