Hmmmmmm. Thanks, that's interesting and a good distinction to know. *hums thoughtfully* I think the repeated mention of sacrifice is what disturbs me most about patriotism; much as I really do love NZ, I find the concept of self-sacrifice for a fairly abstract ideal to be frightening.
