Happy New Year! I've just finished work for the evening (Holiday season? *hollow laughter* Isn't it more normal to work extra hours at this time of year?) and thus, I feel like... a meme. Because memes are truly the best cure for work, or something. ;)

Ganked from tanizard, because my two New Year's Resolutions are: get down to weighing 65 kgs; and write more. So.

I don't suppose you'd be willing to write something for Chrestomanci? The least done characters are Cat's generation, but I don't have any ship or anything which I'm particularly interested in, unless you want to do something for Cat/Tonino. There's about twenty *anything* for the entire fandom, and they're all ff.net material.

To the prompt of... heat. Which doesn't mean I want Gabriel/Christopher pr0n, but that I'm unimaginative and it's going to be 41 today.

Drabble?

You gets a drabble for #12 ANYWAYS, because I have totally failed to produce any Dairine/Roshaun. :D

In the years after Roshaun leaves (but she's afraid to think of it as leaving, sometimes people leave and never come back, and she's not Nita, she knows, not used to it. She can't farewell everyone with a smile and a tear and know she'll see them again; she believes, she does, but she fears as well, and too much) she travels more than even she might have predicted. After her Ordeal, she'd always known she'd go back out there again, where starfire burned red and cold and ancient, so far away; she'd occasionally dreamed of travelling the million million known worlds, after school, maybe before college. A wizard can always find something to do somewhere they want to go. But she'd never thought she'd be following her wizardry throughout the universe, had imagined bringing her Art with her like a briefcase stuffed with tools; not driven through the galaxies by it, stopping briefly, for a day or a week, never more.

She learned about tracking, about dreams, about listening very hard; and she slept hard, too, every night, trying to get back to Roshaun's perfect place, trying to find a clue. When she managed it, the first time, she thought she must be close; and she was closer, but still not close. Dairine had never let herself be deterred by false optimism but it was hard to go on, and harder; but she told herself that meant she was closer, and kept going, pretending not to miss her home, her roots, her staying in one place.

When she found him, long years after she started, she told him she always knew she'd find him. And she had and she did but she didn't know that when They were always picking her up and taking her away again. She can't help thinking it's unfair, that she's been cheated; spent so long looking for something she forgot how to take care of it, keep herself with it; but Roshaun needs his roots, and she still can't stay.
