Well, my family's finally gone away for the weekend, and left me here aaaalll aloone. This is a sad thing and a happy thing: Sad because I'm missing going skiing (I have two concerts this weekend) but happy because yay, empty house! I love my family and I like peopleand everything, but sometimes the bliss of an empty house is just what I need. So yes.

Also, wellingtonians, if you're into classical music at all my orchestra the Wellington Youth Sinfonietta will be having probably quite a good concert this Sunday, 3 pm in the Ilott Theatre. Beethoven, Marcello Oboe Concerto, Vaughn Williams English Folk Songs, something by bartok the winds are doing, and... maybe one other thing that I've forgotten. Oh well. At any rate, they're all really cool pieces and we can play them rather well, so come along if you're at all into that kind of thing. Look for me in the viola section. ;)

Er, so, I just got a phone call from my mother saying "Lock the doors at night, don't have a party and trash the house*, don't let any of Rewi's friends in**, and don't tell anyone you're home alone."

Oh. Also. Tchaikovsky is GOD.

The Romeo and Juliet Fantasie-Overture is DIVINE. The 1812 Overture is.. less divine than OMG THE MARSEILLAISE!! But godly never the less.
