Dec. 27th, 2004 02:32 amSo... had a leetle party tonight. It was/has been a lot of (mildly drunken) fun, attended by (in order or drunkenness) Ellie, (very extremely throwing-up drunk)
insane_ophelia, (drunk enough to be REALLY hitting on me. Um.)
sixth_light (silly-noisy drunk),
megaffe (silly drunk), myself (fairly drunk earlier on shading to more and more sober. But never dumb-drunk), Catherine (comfortable-drunk), Debbie (one sip of praline) and Clare (not drunk at all, except on her wonderful natural personality.)
About now we're heading into bed, Clare and Debbie having gone home and usns lying about on the sitting room. It's been great (except for Ellie, but that was kinda funny and we talked about politics in between) but, um, well, I got a real surprise earlier. I told Debbie about a week or so ago, and Ellie a month or so ago, and I was, well, happy with their reactions (ellie I told when we were al drunk, again, and we were being silly because Meg and Lucy both knew and wanted me to tell Ellie, so they told Ellie that "Tui has something to tell you. Guess what it is." "Um. She's not striaght?" We had been pretty, um, obvious earlier, I guess. Debbie I e-mailed and she was like "I never would have guessed, I never thought about it. So I was not thinking, well, just keep reading.)
So, I've been wondering about telling Catherine, in a nervous way- Catherine being Catholic and not generally dropping any hints about her opinions on the Whole Gay Thing. ButI wanted to tell her because I'm close to her, I think. And so Meg was playing Annoying Best Friend, because she wanted to hear a dodgy comment someone had made to me and I couldn't tell her because Catherine was right there. So Meg got annoyed and was trying to get Catherine to guess. Dialogue:
Cath: Um, well, it's not the kind of guess you make out loud.
Me: ... she knows.
Meg: Yeah
Me: that's the sort of thing you'd say if you knew.
Cath: Well I can't say it can i?
Meg: Tui, go away so Catherine can tell me.
Me: *goes* *eavesdrops*
Cath: So does it have to do with the word Tui doesn't like?
meg: *yells* She knows! (in an aside) She's bi, actually.
Me: *comes back blushing*
Cath: I've known for AAAAAAGES.
Me: Um, what? *panics* For how long? How come?
Cath: Er, I dont know? A long time.
Me: *stupefied*
So, yeah. That went, er, well. But scary. o.O
