Vindicated!
Nov. 13th, 2008 07:12 pmSome time ago I had a conversation with someone about something (those aren't redacted for privacy, I genuinely can't remember what the hell I was talking about, or with whom) and I mentioned the way beetroot stains your urine red. This person totally told me I was wrong and THIS PERSON WAS TOTALLY WRONG, ha-ha!

Other things I haven't talked about lately because of politics:
- the worst thing I've done lately is discovering that one can toast marshmallows over an ordinary ring burner (kids: don't try this at home). I stick 'em on a carving fork and dangle them over the burner on high. DELICIOUS. This is filling a void that has been in my life since I first tasted a toasted marshmallow and realised that, since I am a deeply urbanised woman, my life would probably be sans this nirvana of sweet fluffy mouth-burning amazingness.
- I'm supposed to be leaving Christchurch sometime in the next couple of weeks. I'm also supposed to be enrolled in summer school at VUW. I haven't managed to concretise any of this which is increasingly problematic since term starts Monday.
- The reason I haven't finalised this is I'm not totally sure I want to leave Christchurch this year. I nearly got a great part-time job in Wellington which would have tipped the scales but in the end I did not (that's the NWRO position, which went to someone infinitely more qualified, although the procedure for discovering this was a little humiliating but I am full of grace.) However, I absolutely HAVE to be enrolled in a summer school SOMEWHERE because I need NEED NEED to start researching my Hons. research essay on DWJ.
- There's some other stuff going on but it's tiring me out just thinking about it.

ETA: also, hey, is it just me or have we had a lot more fic at
myriadwords this year?
