The apocalypse countdown is officially on. I have the first three signs right here: SYWTBAW movie news. Comet McNaught. And the new one: Supernatural is airing on New Zealand television! The pilot (yeah, the season one pilot, yeah, we're about two years behind, yeah, I know. You should see how far behind we are with SGA. Or BSG. And they're showing S1 of New Who right now, but pretty sure those are re-runs.) anyway, it's airing on TV2 Friday the second of February, at 8:30, followed by Smallville at 10:35. I don't know what the regular schedule is going to be - whether it's going to be Smallville followed by SPN like it is in the States after they've gotten past the extra-length pilot - but, yeah, I'm amazed.

It's so nice to see we're getting exactly the same amount of publicity for the show here as in the US, which is to say, fuck all. Which is a real problem for us, so, guys, tune in, write to TV2 and say how much you like it.

It's actually interesting that we've changed a whole bunch of nights around from what they are in the States, whereas quite often we leave them the same - our prime-time wednesday night schedule last autumn was, I think, pretty much identical to the US. It's also an interesting indicator to look at what shows we get directly and what shows we get after some time - we got Heroes and Ugly Betty, which have done so well in the States, and Lost of course immediately after they air in the States (ie, they start the season during that same season's hiatus) and the ones that don't do so well - *pets SPN gently* - we get a bit later or not at all.

D: WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO EVER GET SUPERNATURAL. Now retarded NZers will be all talking about "OMG, will Dean from Gilmore Girls and Alec from Dark Angel ever find Denny from Grey's Anatomy?" and I will have to smack them all. That's a lot of smacking for me, Tui.

You are so intolerant omg.

If you think anyone in new zealand would recognise Alec, you are sadly wrong. And Sam looks SO different to GGDean. Only the Denny/John thing will be a problem and we never see him anyway. It will not be as bad as all that. :P

ANYWAY HEY IT'S GOOD. You should try making Verity watch it.

THIS IS WHY YOU LOVE ME.

jfhdskj you've never even seen Gilmore Girls, you insane tard. 'Sam' looks pretty much exactly like 'Dean' did the last season he was in GG (incidentally, pretty sure that was just before he started filming Supernatural :P)

YEAH SHE HAS SEEN THE FIRST FEW EPISODES. Really hard to keep her attention span for longer than 2 episodes at a time of any show, though, so I never really got further than ep 4. This would be my chance, except... we don't get TV at my house D: oops.

MAYBE I LOVE YOU IN SPITE OF IT. YOU DON'T KNOW.

I know, I know, but I've seen screencaps! V different. Except maybe not in his last season but WHATEVS. Nobody watches GG anyway.

D: THAT'S A PROBLEM. Esp. because the episodes after 4 SUCK for awhile. Bugs? Yech. (OK, I don't hate Bugs, but it's not a good episode unless you already love the show.)

I hate Bugs, it was a retarded episode. They got there at midnight, and fifteen minutes (in real time, there was no "fading out") it was dawn. THEIR TIMELINES ARE WORSE THAN J.K. ROWLING'S.

Nobody watches GG anyway.

D: D: D: I HOPE ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS TOMORROW SMELL LIKE POO, AND THAT AT LEAST ONE OF THEM TRIES TO TOUCH YOU.

Yeah, the timing absolutely reeked. Mind you, clearly they all know that, because there was a transcript of some interview thing where someone, I think Kripke, was like "We had to do this stuff in S1 to know what not to do, like we had to do Bugs to know not to do Bugs." Which, ouch, but heh.

I HOPE ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS TOMORROW SMELL LIKE POO, AND THAT AT LEAST ONE OF THEM TRIES TO TOUCH YOU.

*shrugs fatalistically* there's always one day like that, and I'd just as soon have it be a public holiday where I'll have maybe three customers.

Fun facts: I won LSM at Grand Arcade with 5 hundred something (Shij' had nine hundred something but because we were doing it as fraction of hours...) and there's a note on the Cuba office wall saying the winning number was... 195. you beat everyone at Cuba. I think Sergei beat everyone at Cuba. We are the only store to make our target and we made it exactly, it was really funny because Monique and Shijo came rushing out of the office and fussed through the drawer and counted up all the receipts that hadn't been used and were like "YES!" Hee.

And now they're all showing on Kiwi TV, we need Nathan Petrelli, Lincoln Burrows, and Dean Winchester to get together and complain about their overly talented-yet-totally-whacked younger brothers. But not the younger brothers. Because if Peter Petrelli, Michael Scofield, and Sam Winchester were all in the same room, the sudden concentration of emo would create a black hole of angst and despair which would destroy the fictional worlds of TV as we know them. Whereas Nathan, Linc, and Dean would just drink, complain, and look hot.

God, the black hole of Emo. It would be like matter and antimatter only... they're all the same kind, so like antimatter and antimatter. It would be hilarious. Can you imagine?

SW: *emo sigh* I just want to be normal! *emo hair*
PP: *emo sigh* Are you kidding, I just want to be exceptional! *emo hair*
MS: *emo sigh* I just want to exonerate my brother without killing or getting killed! *emo tattoos*

and yet so hot. mm

whereas Nathan, Linc, and Dean would just drink, complain, and look hot.

*thumbs up* AWESOME.

And in yet another room...

Dr. Sara Tancredi: *emo sigh* People keep trying to kill, torture, and rape me, and it's all because of things other people have done. *tosses her long hair*

Claire Bennet: *sigh* People keep succeeding in doing those things to me and there's not even a reason for it. And then I wake up. *tosses her long, blonde hair*

Jess: *sigh* I didn't even get to wake up. I just appear in dream sequences. On street corners. Do they know how embarrassing that is in this get-up? *tosses her long, blonde hair and straightens her white nightie*

Meanwhile, in another corner of the bar...

Jo: I can kill demons with only a knife. At thirty paces. *looks cool*

Heidi Petrelli: I can cause social disaster with only a raised eyebrow. *looks cooler*

Jane Barrow: I can apprehend Lincoln Burrows with only two minions. Successfully. *looks coolest*

thumbs UP

And in some other dimension entirely:

John Winchester: *grim* Fathering from the realms of the dead is tough.

Mr Petrelli: *grimmer* You think just being dead is hard, try never appearing onscreen and leaving your sons dealing with the results of your moral ambiguities anyway.

John: I think I did that last bit...

Couple of Dudes: Hey, at least your sons aren't on the lam! *really grim*

Actually, that last "Couple of Dudes" should read "Aldo Burrows". Michael has a different last name because Aldo walked out on the fam while Mum was preggers and Mum was so hacked off she gave Michael her maiden name instead. Um, there are good One World Conspiracy related reasons. Honest.

Appropriately, though, Mr. Burrows is an expert in the offscreen moral ambiguities thing.

Oh, yeah. Those three could have a "I screwed up my sons' lives beyond recognition" contest and all tie for first place. IT IS ALL THEIR FAULT.

Because the TV people here are morons. MORONS, I tell you.

Except the ones who picked that clip of Captain Doctor Hero Jack walking into a wall of glass as the Lost promo clip. That will never lose its amusement.
