I recently uploaded a bunch of Bic Runga B-sides and raretracks for a friend and figured I'd share them here, because these are all difficult enough to find if you live in NZ and probably impossible overseas. Also, a Stellar* album, because it's not available even on Aussie iTunes. IF ANY OF THESE ARE AVAILABLE WHERE YOU LIVE, PLEASE TRY TO BUY THEM.

Bic Runga

All the Bic rarities are now in a handy-dandy, easy-to-reupload .rar file (extract using winRAR!), found at Sendspace here. If you can't use Sendspace, or if it's expired, I'm happy to try uploading to Megaupload or any other filesite you prefer.

This is the tracklisting of the .rar file, with some notes:

DRIVE: LIMITED EDITION BONUS CD (from the 2-disc limited ed DRIVE release)

Close the Door, Put Out the Light
Dust
Ordinary Girl
Sway (I think this might be a live version?)
Welcome to my Kitchen
You

BEAUTIFUL COLLISION LIMITED EDITION BONUS CD (um... yeah.)

Good Morning, Baby (with... holy shit, um, I'm pretty sure this is the version originally from the American Pie soundtrack, so whoever she sings with there. *checks* Dan Wilson!)
A Day Like Today
You Don't Want to Know
Gracie
Listening for the Weather (live, and I'm not sure where.)
Something Good (live, presumably same performance or tour?)
Question to Ask Me (Feat. Tim Guy, whoever he is...)

BIRDS LIMITED EDITION BONUS TRACKS: (I was really gutted that all their special features were like, vids and things, not new tracks, since I love the bonus tracks for DRIVE and BEAUTIFUL COLLISION)

Somewhere in the Night
Something's Gotten Hold of my Heart

FROM EPS:

Drive (Doordashan remix) - from the "Roll Into One" EP, along with the "Interstellar Over Drive" Mix which I REALLY REALLY REALLY want. Sigh.
Ordinary Girl (Drive "Lovesoup" EP)
Take It Out Sometimes (Drive "Lovesoup" EP)
Welcome to my Kitchen (Suddenly Strange EP)
All Fall Down (Suddenly Strange EP)
Making a Scene (Bursting Through EP)
I Don't Mean It (Sway EP)

MISCELLANEOUS OTHER JUNK:

Drive feat. Bic Runga (a Strawpeople song featuring the lovely bic, unrelated to her tune Drive. From half a dozen Strawpeople CDs - I think this one's from their Best Of.)
Lonely Lola, Cherry Cola Girl (from No Boundaries - a Kosovo Benefit Concert. I forgot to mention this in my faves, I ADORE it. Originally from the Sway EP but I don't know if this is the same version or a live version or remix of that track.)
Ashes to Ashes (live David Bowie cover - no idea from where.)
Good Morning Baby (feat Tim Finn and Dave Dobbyn in the "Together Live in Concert" tour, from that CD. Live.)
Gracie (live, from somewhere.)
Get Some Sleep (Andrew Hale Airplay Remix) -*shrug* I picked this up from the kindness of some internet stranger somewhere!
The Gift that Keeps On Giving (no freaking clue!)
You (ditto)

A couple of these are things I did not have up earlier - the Birds bonus tracks, particularly. If you would like one or two of these, feel free to leave a comment asking me to upload them separately.

Stellar* - MAGIC LINE - rar file.

Please let me know if any of these links are broken or the files are wrong, 'cos both lots were uploaded as gifts so I should, like, fix that. :)

I can't explain to you how much all this extra Bic material means to me.

I now also call you "FRIEND". :-)

I can't think of any more appropriate words at this late hour, so I'll just use terms that others here have used to describe you:

You are an Awesome GODDESS.

*waves* Hi, here from the Bic Runga appreciation comm - this is a bit late, isn't it? I won't ask you to reupload all of it - perhaps, if you could, your three favourite Bic rarities? That would be so awesome :) Thanks!

P.S. D'you know where I could get some Stellar*? iTunes only has the first album (and I don't have a credit card :P)

Um, I hope you can use sendspace, because I uploaded all the bic rarities I have (er, that I could find on my hideously malorganised hard-drive, anyway) in a .rar file here (http://www.sendspace.com/file/6ykkoh). (Although, for future reference, my three favourites are: Close The Door, Put Out The Light; Welcome to my Kitchen; and Gracie.) I think there are a couple in there that aren't on the list above, like the bonus tracks from the Birds special edition. I will work up some kind of tracklisting tomorrow and edit this post to include it, probably.

As for Stellar*, I'm afraid I can't really suggest anything except maybe torrenting or whatever. But you seem to be in Melbourne - try asking your local CD store to import from across the ditch, maybe?

Date: 2007-05-17 01:47 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] girlambrosia.livejournal.com
Thank you very much indeed :) Tracklisting would be nice, but if you're busy, I'll Google away like a madwoman.

Yes, I am in Melbourne, and no, the CD stores aren't particulary cooperative. I draw the line at paying anything more than $30 for a single-disc CD, and the last time I asked, import fees added $10-15 onto an order *shudder* S'pose I must dive into the bitter, twisted world of torrenting, or something.

(Odd fact, in search of Stellar*, I managed to download about three albums worth of Stellarstarr. The fact that Stellarstarr songs drive me into the grave is highly amusing to everyone that is not me, apparently.)

Thanks again :)

OK, I think that is all! :P Man, I used Bic's official discography to do this & am reminded of the (few!!!) tracks I still don't own. Like Interstellar Over Drive, or the Bursting Through Acoustic mix. Or the SOmething Good Submariner Mix. And, um, that's about it.

Wow. I kind of feel hardcore.

CD shops can be kind of assholish like that. :-/ Maybe ask around elsewhere, since I just checked for torrents and they all kind of suck ass.

It's a pleasure! I get to feel like I'm the greatest obsessive pirate fangirl ever, so no worries.

Wow. Okay. A thousand times, thank you :)

You = Goddess :)

Is there anything I could perhaps help you with? Something you're freakishly searching for in vain? I've got some Nouvelle Vague, if you're into the chanteuse thing, quite a bit of Jill Barber and Jill Sobule, plus some Beth Orton, Regina Spektor, Maia Hirasawa and Rilo Kiley?

:) Thanks again!

I use YouSendit, and regular old Winzip, hope that's okay?

Here (http://download.yousendit.com/3F5FF19C233C1577) is Regina's Begin To Hope. 'On The Radio' was the first single, but 'Hotel Song' never fails to make me smile. Something about the girl singing about orca whales and owls is just so charming :)

(How come I can't make witty ornithological references like that?)

Anyway. RK's More Adventurous coming soon :) Jenny Lewis is really quite a dollsome girl, I have her solo release too, if you want it!

Off to dredge up some more Stellar*. Obsession is dangerous.

Hey, I know it's been like... 2 years since you uploaded these files, but I was wondering if you still had the RAR file on you, and if you could reupload it? I've been hunting down like, 75% of these songs for the longest time and it's the first time I've seen it around.

Could you please re-upload them? :) Megaupload, Sendspace, Mediafire... any is fine. :)

OMG!!! Thank you so much! Woot! Woot! Yes, I do have "Try To Remember Everything" which coincidentally, I found a few days ago. Fell in love with "Ordinary Girl" on YouTube and couldn't find it. Most of these other tracks I've never heard before and they're beautiful. Bic is a treasure! Wish I could see her live. So again, I thank you. *hugs and smiley faces* <3
