In other news:
- as of Sunday, am officially 20. I really wanted to say "in my second decade" but, duh, that was last year.
- psycho flatmate has had an epiphany and decided to drop chemical engineering in favour of a commerce degree. While in general I think commerce majors are the last thing we need more of, she has become SO much more relaxed and happy that I am honestly blown away. Tonight? She asked me how I was. I nearly cut my finger off in shock. I feel like there's a moral in there somewhere about something something walking a mile in people's jandals something something; obviously I have forgotten the Teachings of Atticus Finch.
- it's, like, midwinter here, and yet today was a day I would not be surprised to find in summer, or at the least late spring. Sunny, clear, beautiful, and not in the normal, winter, it-looks-pretty-out-there-but-go-outside-and-your-ears-will-try-to-tract-inside-your-skull way, in the actually-warm way. if this keeps up? Officially shortest winter ever.
- the $NZ is currently at .81 of $1US. Now is the hour to get a debit card and spend zillions on the internet, y/y?

Date: 2007-07-25 01:01 pm (UTC)-I love Atticus Finch. Maybe not as much as Boo Radley, but it's a close tie.
-Excellent. It's 32C up here, and so humid you could probably swim in the air. I miss winter. :(
-Woah. Do it! (although that doesn't bode well for us going there...)

Date: 2007-07-25 08:06 pm (UTC)Heee, hopefully it will come down a bit by the time you get here. This is a record high, the exporters won't stop bitching.

Date: 2007-07-25 07:26 pm (UTC)I find it actually kind of hilarious that she changes majors and makes a complete 180, that's pretty awesome. I can understand how that would happen though. Atticus Finch would be proud that you're giving her another chance?

Date: 2007-07-25 08:14 pm (UTC)Yeah. I mean, she was one and a half years into her original degree and she TOTALLY changed focus - like, she was a chemical engineering major, so I would havebeen less surprised if she'd switched to chemistry or something? But no. *shrug* but she is SO much more happy and relaxed. Yeah, I'm kind of ashamed that I didn't visit Atticus for advice earlier in the year, but.

Date: 2007-07-25 11:30 pm (UTC)From Chemical Engineering to commerce? Quite a switch, but I just switched from Sociology to Geophysics last year, so I suppose I can't talk. ^^''
