It's obviously no secret that I am a big slash fan, and I'm also lucky in that I am very flexible and also normally really like the pairing that a significant proportion of the fandom latches onto - like John/Rodney, or Sam/Dean, or Bruno/Boots. So SG-1 is really kicking my ass, because not only am I apparently a big Sam/Jack fan - what is this thing called het? - but Daniel/Jack... just kind of bores me. I feel like I've read everything there is to read about the pairing already, because the dynamic is so similar to half a dozen other slash pairings I've read.

*glum sigh* Life hard. Rec me some Daniel/Jack and try to convert me, because otherwise I'll go nuts. (Other pairings would be a-OK also!)

I'm afraid I'm also eh on Jack/Daniel. (And the pairing is weird to look at anyway; it makes me think of beer.) I want to like Daniel, I do, but he kind of bores me. I love Jack's snark, but I like Sheppard better. SG-1 as a whole never really grabbed my attention.

It just feels like every slash ship ever written (she says, airily, without having read a piece.) I do like Daniel, except when he's talking about his wife (skipping a lot of episodes really helps with this) but, I dunno. *srug*

Did you just say Bruno/Boots?

Like, Bruno and Boots of McDonald Hall fame?

Dude, you are like my best friend EVER.

Me too, but I hate his older stuff. A long long time ago, he came to my elementary school, but I didn't get to see him. . . xD

My personal favourite has always been Go Jump In The Pool, and second favourite was Beware the Fish, but as for the non-McDonald Hall works, I really liked The Twinkie Squad and the Bugs Potter books. . . I'd say the last one he did that was really good was The Chicken Doesn't Skate. . .

The scrimmettes and exaltedkarpoozi LJ communities have links to places where the older books can be found, if you don't own copies of all of them xD ^^;; they're my saving grace while I trawl through used bookstore looking for Bugs Potter and The Twinkie Squad.

We had a smallish collection at the public library in wellington, and for some reason we owned a few of the B&B ones, so I know B&B quite well and his other stuff slightly less well until, uh, the aforementioned links which, um, are EXCELLENT. oh, yes.

I used to really like Losing Joe's Place and I want to go home! LJP doesn't get much fannish attention, sadly. Oh, Don't Care High was a big favourite too, and Son of Interflux. Milo Otis for Student Body President!

They reprinted Son of Interflux recently, and all of the B&B ones - I think the only problem I have with that is that they "modernized" the storyline. . . and changed a couple titles. "The War With Mr. Wizzle" is now "The Wizzle War" and "McDonald Hall Goes Hollywood" is now "Lights, Camera, Action!" I didn't notice anything glaringly different about Son of Interflux though. Go go Anti-flux!

I haven't read Losing Joe's Place, actually xD, but I did find a used copy of Don't Care High. That was amazing. I wish they'd reprint the Bugs Potter ones because I'm REALLY looking for those ones. Argh.
