RUN, do not walk, to read Written By the Victors by [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza. Some 55 thousand words of truly brilliant SGA fiction. I was telling Meg the other day that it's such shame I do so much of my reading online, because people ask me what I'm reading and it's kind of difficult to say, well, I still read at least a novel's worth of prose a day, it's just... internet fanfic. But I would be proud to say I had read this.

LOL - I have the same trouble trying to explain my reading habits too. I mean, I try to read novels, but they just don't hold the same appeal as fanfic. And besides, I can't sit at my desk at work and read a book, but I can read fanfic for the most part.

*sighs*

This is the second time I've seen [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza's fic recced this morning ... and her site has been blocked by our filters. *headdesk*

Yeah. I mean, I still read plenty of non-fanfic, but not as much as I used to, y'know?

dude. *sympathises* that's so harsh!

I know, I've been the same way lately. I have 4 books on my bedside table, but at the moment only about 1 in 5 grab me enough to read cover to cover without the distraction of fanfic.

LOL - it is harsh. Instead, I'm stuck reading this mildly amusing Waterworld-AU SGA fic. I'm undecided about whether I'm reading it out of enjoyment or just because it's there. *shrugs*

Now I know why "RUN, do not walk" bothered me so much this morning!

There's a good and popular tune by The Ventures entitled "Walk - Don't Run". That's what my brain was trying to pull out of its twisted archives.

Hooray for surf music and fan fiction.
