Just watched But I'm a Cheerleader which was, hey, awesome. Impressions were mostly that I really, really love Clea Duvall, and can people please recommend me stuff she's been in (other than Heroes, which I've seen, obvs); Natasha Lyonne (who played Megan) has a really hot voice; and oh, hey, that's Melanie Lynskey, of Heavenly Creatures fame, and she's lost a lot of weight that she really shouldn't have.

In other, guaranteed-to-disgust news, we finally called exterminators to get rid of a terribly persistent colony of mice, and it is so horrible. The guy put down glue traps, and I really wish I'd asked specifically for back-breaking traps, because basically what a glue trap is is a giant really sticky piece of paper, they run on, they can't run off. The guy reckoned they'd die fairly quickly of exposure or exhaustion and that it was humane, and um, one, that doesn't really sond humane, and two, even if it was TINY DEATH SQUEAKS. But foolishly I forgot to check wikipedia and accepted his assurances, when, in fact, PETA turns out to be opposed to glue traps and oh my god they look so pathetic. *miserable* these cute little things sprawled out in death, I kind of want ti cry. :(

Uh. This is kind of embarrassing, but I really like The Faculty, which has Clea Duvall and Josh Hartnett and Elijah Wood and Jordana Brewster (who plays Lucy Diamond in DEBS, if you've seen that - and, if you haven't, you should: terrific cute lesbian spy romance) in a terrible ALIENS WANT TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD STARTING AT OUR HIGH SCHOOL teen horror thing. Clea Duvall plays the goth-ish geeky scifi girl who believes in aliens from the start!

... I really, really like Zeke's car.

And that he ends up dating the tentacle-head English lit teacher! *rolls eyes*

I love that movie so much. It's one of my all time favorites. I liked Clea in Girl, Interrupted (as long as you can stand how it departs from the book). And Angelina Jolie is to die for in that movie as well.

She also was one of many great actors in The Laramie Project. But that breaks your soul a lot.

I also have a special place in my heart for The Faculty, which she's also in. But, god almighty, did that movie suck. In the best way possible.

Yeah, I think I sometimes like crazy bad movies more than good ones.

To prove this I will use one of my Resident Evil icons. They are two of my favorite movies ever and they are awesomely bad.

My sisters got me copies of the first season of Carnivale. At least.

You're saying I should break em out and watch em now that they've been in my possession for, ooo, a year and a half?

See, I know Carnivale is supposed to be amazing and everything, but I look at the blurb and I think grim and depressing and arty and slow and I can do arty and slow only if it's combined with bubbly and funny. :-/

:( Aw, poor little meeces... there's an actual humane trap you can get (the "backbreaking" ones aren't as humane as they could be, and they aren't actually all that effective in my experience), which I will look for a link to...

Even better, here's one you can make yourself! (http://www.humanemousetrap.info/)

Also, Clea Duvall is awesome.

Humane traps tend not to kill the mouse, right? See, we have nowhere we can release them, so I am onboard with the little mousey deaths. Just not slow and painful. :-/

:( Nowhere? Wah, poor mice! I personally don't believe that there are any traps that really can guarantee a quick pain-minimum death for the mouse. *shudders* I hate traps.
