I have two music uploads for y'all today! Because I'm lazy, I'm only going to provide .rar files, but if any of you want the specific songs, feel free to request them. Files are mp3 unless otherwise noted. also, no covers because I haven't got photoshop right now. IMAGINE the covers, OK?

First up, a mixtape that's been sort of percolating in my head since my ipod played "Cactus Tree," "When I Was A Boy", and "I'm Glad I Hitched My Applewagon To Your Star" all in a row. It's 9 songs that are, well, fantastic, in the literal sense.

Christmas Songs

I was originally going to upload a couple of these for deutscheami because she was awesome and gave me some Sufjan Stevens. That was... a week or two ago, um, sorry, Heidi! I plead being eaten by exams. This is pretty much all the Christmas music I have on my computer, and it's a bit of a grab-bag. Some of them are quirky covers (Simon & Garfunkel, Belle & Sebastian, Barenaked Ladies), some of them are funny (The Go Gos, Snoopy's Christmas), some of them are straight-up versions of the traditionals (Emmanuel, Drummer Boy) and some of them are, hm... nouveau christmas? Anyway. You may enjoy them. I know it's a little early for Christmas music, but deal with it.

Hey listen are you still looking for a summer job?

"The Macro-Economic Statistics Development (MESD) Unit are seeking a university student to assist them with some work over the summer holiday period. The purpose is to give the student some insight into work at Statistics New Zealand and further encourage good candidates here. The role will involve some general administration and working with numbers. An important part of the role will involve the student learning what we do and understanding what we can offer employees.

Hm. I can't find it on the Vacancies page here (http://careers.stats.govt.nz/list.aspx?CoId=1379&rq=5) - do you think I'm missing it? Or is it not up yet, maybe? Or only for people with Stats NZ email addresses (which wouldn't really make sense if they're looking for a student...)

Ahhh, I copied out the entire add from our bulletin board and all of the job ads have that extra paragraph about user IDs appended automatically (cause they were only recently introduced).

The ad is currently only appearing on the internal noticeboard (but should wind up on the website reasonably soon). It will appear under the
Macro-Economic, Environment, Regional and Geography Statistics heading as "casual summer work".
