my favourite thing about the Vampire Diaries is that it's the skinny hipster boy who is stupidly and sexually obsessed with/fetishising of vampires. Go Jeremy and your dumbass self! Also, Anna is really cute, I hope she doesn't kill you.

OK, the other favourite thing? The plotting on this show is INTENSE. every other show on TV can SUCK IT: the writers clearly either know all the answers already, OR have figured out that if they want to be able to make stuff up on the fly it works best if questions don't remain unanswered for more than a couple of episodes. I think it's fabulous.

I'm constantly surprised by how good TVD is, and how much I like it and how much it gets right. ♥ show.

It's really, really watchable, I have to say, and - this may sound a bit like damning with faint praise but it's not really - it often doesn't get stuff as wrong as I expect it to. There's a relatively low princess pathetic prince masculine quotient, for example. & since I have seriously, SREIOUSLY negative expectations about TV, this is awesome! :P
