1. Had such a blast at
get__together that the comedown is kinda stink. On the other hand, my hd is now full of delicious, delicious television and comics. Also,
arysteia may possibly have sold me on the Avengers being my new fandom, which would be really, really great, because I really, really need a new fandom. At any rate huge thanks to all involved, specially the organisers. (Also, it was really neat to meet
owlbeer and
gnine.) (And to see everyone else again! Won't try to namecheck everyone, will fail hopelessly.)

Old 'do:
Aaaand new 'do:
I really, really like the new one (even though the photos aren't that great.
Also way more pictures than this boring hat deserves:

IDK. It was a quick knit and I've been wanting to use up that yarn for ages, and also I've been wanting a slouch for ages (... all winter, so good timing, self) but it doesn't really have the drape I wanted. Probably because I didn't switch to larger needles like I was supposed to. Also it's a little too big. Meh. If anyone wants it, I'll happily mail it to you! It's acrylic but should be pretty warm anyway.

Ugh, okay, I know I predicted this but I wish I'd been wrong. God. And, of all the injustices, they're STILL not together AND Asshole Newspaper Dude is still in the picture. Ugh.
I did like most of the rest of the episode (especially Cora not dying) and kind of enjoyed seeing Thomas rework his way into the household. Sybil and Tom really sold me, which is great because I really hadn't been into that until this episode; and I was so relieved that the pater came around at the end. Talk about a triumph of modernity. It was really moving. So was Anna and Mr Bates getting married, really delightful.
On the other hand Lord Whatsisface's continuing the affair with the housemaid really ticked me off. The dishonesty really bothered me. I was glad he was not awful about it when she quit and I was so relieved she quit and we didn't see him pressuring her to do so, but man, that was awful. It was good to see that he understood the ramifications of his actions but still.
Overall, great finale that nevertheless really annoyed me. Poor Lavinia; what a waste. Self-effacing herself right out of the picture like a real Victorian, how revolting, what a pity. I'm quite cross about it.
