*stretches* well, today was a good day. :) Yay! Point by point:
-I had two dreams last night, and when I woke up I remembered both of them. Briefly, one was some obscure mediaeval wierdness, and one was some convoluted thing that involved me trying to catch a plane to france with four impossibly huge suitcases plus a handbag. Er. That may have bee brought on by issing Clara, but it was still... very random. yes. wtf. Anyway, this is worth mentioning becase I never, ever, EVER remember dreams- I'm a mouth breather and mostly they don't- so on the rare occasions that I do I sort of feel like jumping up and down happily.

-Then I tidied grandma's house. I feel this was an act of supreme courage, because I vacuumed. I hate vacuuming. very. very. Much. Ugh.

-Then I went home, mucked around, read some (I have, BTW, read through all four volumes of Herriot's autobiograpy by now. XD he's excellent. Go read him.) & then went out to see King Arthur with [livejournal.com profile] azurepolkadots and [livejournal.com profile] miriamus.

I think it was a very odd film... inspired mixed reactions in me. Firstly, I particularly liked their take on King Arthur and whre the stories might have come from. That was nice. i did not, on the other hand, appreciate the way they fucked with the canonage. For example, I'm fairly sure Arthur and Guinivere were married before Lancelot died; in fact, that's sort of important. sigh. So, I liked the concept, but was not so impressed with how they pulled it off; I think there could have been a bit more traditional derring-do. Merlin was good, though.

I hated Keira Knightley, though. I'm sorry. Guinevere has never exactly been my favourite character, but the tragedy of the arthur-guinevere-lancelot triangle has always depended on the fact that Guinevere loved them equally and couldn'tpick- soemthing this fiery and decisive Knightley just doesn't do for me. Also, Guienevere shoudl be... serene. er, she wasn't. At all. (And wtf was up with that wierd leather thing at the end??!! I mean...!)

What else? Okay, I didn'tlike the way Lancelot died in th end. he should have got home. that was sad, ut it also meant that his story... kinda trailed off? No resolution. it was unsatisfying. Tristan was sad!! Bors was cool. I liked gawain; I also liked their take on Galahad, the "purest knight." The ice scene was profoundly cool. XD!

I also loved the way Alice and Miriam managed to have completely parallel conversations by basically ignoring everything the other was saying. most amusing.

Then i went home. Well, actually, there was this delightful interlude in which I caught the bus up to karori to take off the stupid sheets and replace them with the oes I cleaned earlier and realised I'd left the keys behind at the family home in newtown, eg ON THE OTEHR SIDE OF TOWN AND AT THE OPPOSITE END OF THE BUS ROUTE FROM KARORI.... but let's not talk about that.

Then I worked. This involved standing behind Emily (Who was new, and nice) grabbing hot dogs, chips, burgers, soft drinks, lindauer, red or white winde and beer according to what people ordered. Er, LOTS of beer. It was basically ordinary. What was NOT ordinary was the game of rugby happening above my head in the Caketin (otherwise known as the Westpac Stadium): ABs vs Wallabies!!111!!

it was a shit game.
For a start it was POURING down, and of course you play in the open (er, I have americans on my f-list, they might not know these things.) Then it was just an awful mathc. Final score: 13-7, to us of course, but... god. 13-7? That's just MISERABLE. There was NO point scoring for over the first half an hour, which is very frustrating; then, after a couple of kicks (nice work by... can't remember, maybe Collins) leaving score 6-0 to us, the ABs spent about FIFTEEN MINUTEs at the five metre line. That is, five metres away from the Aussie tryline. AUGH!!! Finally, though, a try and a conversion- Doug Howlett. Phew. Then the Aussies scored seven, and then we won. But... ouch.
Er, I know you ddn't really want to read that, that's why it's under the cut. But I will say that Joe Rokocoko has the COOLEST surname EVAR!

And... that's all for tonight. Except i got really wet coming home.
