OOOOONLY TWO MORE EXAMS, OH YES!!!

Calculus and Calc Schol, Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. But there are like four days between me and that, so BLISS!

Today [livejournal.com profile] sixth_light picked me up from school and we went and had lunch and watched Henry V (OMG the slash!) at her house, adn then we came home and worked out my uni courses for next year. Um, um, excitement! I'm kinda thrilled 'cause they all look pretty good, although I can't do one of the Phil courses I wanted to because it clashes with Linguistics. :-/ Anyway, courses for next year:

First Semester
LINGUISTICS: The English Language
PHILOSOPHY/MATHS: Logic
MATHS: General maths course (all year)
COMPUTER SCIENCE: Um, programming? *headdesk* I was looking for a science-type paper... I don't really know why I picked this one, except it was the only thing I could find that I was interested in that didn't clash with anything (Like the phil paper that clashed with linguistics, and the english paper that clashed with linguistics, and the astrophysics paper that, um, ALSO clashed with linguistics. Is 11-12 just a really good time for lectures or something?) Plus, my mother suggested it, and I figure I may as well do one thing she wants me to do. I would have been happier with the "introduction to computer science," because the one I'm doing is "computer programming in a high-level language with secial emphasis on style and structure," which all soudns vaguely terrifying... but it was a second semester cause, so no can do. Anyway, I emailed the lady and hopefull she'll tell me if there are prerequisites in time for me to change.

Second Semester
LINGUISTICS: Language and Society (This looks really interesting, I'm looking forward to it, especially 'cause it leads to 'sociolinguistics' in second year which sounds really cool.)
ENGLISH: Shakespeare. um, yeah? I thought about doing American Literature and New Zealand Literature, but AmLit clashed and NZLit looked kinda... um, boring. So no. Plus, in Shakespeare we also get to do Rosencratz and Guildenstern are Dead, which I've heard is really fantastic. So yeah.
FRENCH: French Language 1. For people who "Have 60% or over in UEBS French." Just a language course, looks like, though I toyed with the Culture course instead.

So that's my year. *looks it over* it actually looks pretty good. I woudl have liked mreo philosophy, since I'm only doing 6 points in it and it's one of my majors (along with Maths and Linguistics), but I'll pick them up 2006, I guess. Pleased I've got an English paper and something more sciency, too- kinda sad about no Physics though. :-(
