SUCH a good day. Why, you ask?

I got up in time for my violin lesson, which proceeded to go really well. I totally kicked G Melodic Minor ass.

I got out and read Dark Lord of Derkholm and Granny Torelli Makes Soup. Which, well, are just the kind of books that make you Feel Good. Warm fuzzies, or something.

Had quite an interesting astrophysics lesson!! :p

Slept/read all afternoon. Lovely.

But most importantly: I found out I passed that Academic Writing thing AND I GOT 95% IN MY PHILOSOPHY ASSIGNMENT, OH, YES!!! *bounces*

Also, have I mentioned my parents are getting me a viola? 'cause they are. *mildly thrilled* 1920s/30s German/Czechoslovakian, 16", mellow tone. *BOUNCING UP AND DOWN LIKE A WILD THING*

Life is good. *is grateful* I think I need to share the love somehow. So... if there's a favour you want from me, hit me up and I'll see what I can do. ;)

PS:

Your Birthdate: July 22

While sometimes employing unorthodox approaches, you are capable of handling large scale undertakings.

You assume great responsibility and work long and hard toward completion.

Often, especially in the early part of life, there is rigidity or stubbornness, and a tendency to repress feelings.

Idealistic, you work for the greater good with a good deal of inner strength and charisma.

An extremely capable organizer, but likely to paint with broad strokes rather than detail.

You are very aware and intuitive.

You are subject to a good deal of nervous tension.

is rather accurate. *impressed* Not perfect, but pretty damn good.

I <3 Dark Lord of Derkhold. I think that was the first DWJ I ever read.

Mine was The Homeward Bounders. Ah, DWJ, she rocks.

I like Year of the Griffin a lot, too. *beaming*

MASH is my most recent obsession. I walked in on my parents watching a random rerun of it about two weeks ago, and now I cannot tear myself away. It's pathetic, really.

Witch Week was the first DWJ I read, and it remains my favorite. I liked the ending because it bridged the gap between "magic life" and "real life," in that the same passion and witchery of magicworkers could be applied to things that we know we can do.

I mean, of course it was also clever, and we do appreciate the cleverness. Her books are the most cerebral YA fantasy I've encountered. Hexwood, at the extreme, totally exceeded my capacity to understand plot.

Whats the difference between a Viola and a Violin?
Violas burn for longer.

Thats a very un-ladylike onomatopoeia
