So apparently there's a possibility that the HPHBP manuscript may have been slightly leaked with one enormous spoiler.

So, yeah. I don't know what to think. I don't know which character is connected with said spoiler, because I don't want to, but... dude. The fact that people out there may know who...

... God. *facepalm* Apparently the article at TLC goes into enough detail that, without naming the character, they nevertheless imply it, so I wouldn't check there. Try HPANA if you want to know what the rumour involves, but not who the character actually is.

Also: 25TH OF MAY ROCK ON! Lilac ribbon and (fake) flowers in my hair, tiny bunch of (fake) flowers on my backpack, towel on my backpack too. :D

Plus: have a short fandom meme, while I think about my poll for this afternoon. Will be up within the hour, probably, so if there's anothing else you want to say about the YW Fanfic Project of Doom, say it now.

Current fandoms: Young Wizards, Harry Potter, Bruno and Boots I read or discuss in constantly; whatever [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock and [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge and [livejournal.com profile] throughadoor write, I read (all originally through EXCELLENT R/S.) I also dabble in whatever I feel like reading. Changes every night.

My first fandom ever: I used to ship Jill/Eustace. Does that count? ;)

My most recent fandoms:Umm... Bruno and Boots, I guess? I read in newer fandoms, like Lost, but not regularly, because it's All Too Spoilery *cries*

5 Fandoms that mean a lot to me:

- Young Wizards. I mean, obviously I wouldn't be about to start the fandom's first-ever fic challenge if I didn't adore this fandom, nor would I spend time blethering around at [livejournal.com profile] youngwizards teling everyone all the latest YW.com updates (I know, by the by, that this is freakish and pointless... but I still do it...) But it's totally more than that: the people in the YW fandom who I've met are some really fantastic friends. I am so lucky. :D
-Harry Potter; mostly I think because HP taught me that fandom is an art. I mean, the writing is art (and that was a new concept, considering some of the dross out there in other fandoms), and the art is... art... but more than that! Wank is art, and eight bajillion competing fansites are art, and The Leaky Cauldron is art... Bizarre, modern art of the internet age, but definitely art.
-Wheel Of Time. Um, probably my first internet fandom ever? That's the only reason why, really, because I'm not in the fandom any more, I sort of lost interest. But it left me with high expectations, so it's lucky my next fandom was HP, which met them all and exceeds them every day. ;)
-Lord of the Rings: movie fandom... ah, [livejournal.com profile] sixth_light, remember those days? These movies remind me of summer and high school and chocolate and Wellington and the Premiere. Obviously I adore the books, but I could never have been said to be in any fandom. The movies, though, I chilled at TORN and me and [livejournal.com profile] sixth_light and her sister and [livejournal.com profile] megaffe used to go see them together every year (usually three times)... so I just can't ignore them, you know?
-Um... can't really think of a fifth. Bruno and Boots makes me LAUGH. but I wouldn't say it means a lot to me. :D

Tag 5 people: Um... [livejournal.com profile] deutscheami, [livejournal.com profile] yeliah_whiskey, [livejournal.com profile] tanizard, [livejournal.com profile] insane_ophelia. Four is the new five.

Ah WOT via usenet for me.

I got burned so bad I went off tracking online for a good year or so.

That said, I did help run a mailing list for story writers of Warhammer (http://www.gamesworkshop.com)

If you insist:

Current fandoms: Oh dear, In theory Artemis Fowl - though Book 4 just killed the fandom. I mean really. I dabble in HP occasionally, Lost is catching my interest, and Velvet Goldmine, and then all my other random anime. I want to write a Rock Opera Tribute Song for Rocky Horror. I actually write for Paradise Kiss, Artemis Fowl, Gravitation, Cowboy Bebop, and I have been known to write RPS for the jrockers. I also cosplay. *pokes out tounge*

My first fandom ever:Pokemon. Did you have to ask?

My most recent fandoms:Um, Blade Runner - cos we're studying it in English. Um, I have seen it like a billion times before so I was "Oooh! Is there a fandom?" Turns out there is - but it's pretty dead.

5 Fandoms that mean a lot to me:

1. AF - cause the good fic is REALLY good. I have a lot of friends from that fandom. It was my first serious fandom, and it still retains some of it innocence and fantasy even now that I'm old and wrinkly. I really really wish that it wasn't such a cesspit.
2. Paradise Kiss. Because I amd like, the ONLY PERSON ALIVE who writes for it. It's trashy and soap opera-ish and OMFG GEORGE. I love George. And his relationship with Isabella is so fucked.
3. Gravitation - because boy-love is hot. It is Mills and Boon but with two (ohsogay) men - one a women's novelist and the other a popstar. You can imagine the fic. Best yaoi to come out of Japan since FAKE. However you do get the annoying fangirls...
4. Cowboy Bebop. This is one of the best animes ever produced. Bloody Fantastic. I have so much respect for this fandom, because even though the series has finished the fans still turn out this amazing body of work.
5. Well, I guess this can count, cosplaying. The attention to detail in costumes, the make up, the hair. The time and dedication to doing the character/person justice is incredible.

TLC didn't spoil it at all. They just said that there is this rumour going around, and they're pretty sure it's ONLY a rumour (God, remember all the rumours before OoTP? I was sure one of the twins was going to die), and they think this because it's the sort of thing someone could very easily have made up from all the theorising going on. That's it. Like the blurb a little while ago that we all thought meant something and completely was made up by someone who knew a bit about what fans thought and had looked at old JKR quotes.

I think I know who it is they mean, but I don't want to know. Just in case. Less than two months, after all.

Eh *shrug* Well, I was warned off it by someone who said they regretted reading it, so, you know, better safe than sorry.
