Jul. 21st, 2005 10:19 am... because for the first time in a while I have non-stagnant WIPs.
If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence/paragraph/whatever from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favorite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).
These are both intended for
myriadwords, so they're YW and both inspired by challenges.
My actual challenge fic, Personification:
THERE’S NO JUSTICE. THERE’S JUST…
…US.
Heh. This is actually the very last line of the fic, but I personally think it is inspired and I'm awfully fond of it. :P
And another fic I'm writing, partly because it inspired me and partly because I just wanted to. Current working title is Pawprints, but I confidently expect that to change.
Nita Callahan kicked her way out of the covers and glared at the ceiling. Unrepentant, the dorm-room ceiling looked back: the cracks in the paint showed no discernable concern. Muttering, Nita rolled out of bed to hit the floor with a thump; maybe it says something about her state that for a moment, she wanted to fall asleep there, too, on top of textbooks and clothes and a lot of miscellanea. After a heartfelt moan, though, she pulled herself up and wandered off to take a shower.
In her absence, the roof still displayed no particular concern. The potplant on the window, however, addressed itself to the radio alarm clock on the desk.
“The lady got in late last night.”
The clock’s display blinked in assent.
“Well, you might have been nicer.”
In other news, I turn eighteen tomorrow. XD
