The reason, should anyone be curious, for my prolonged absence from LJ and MSN is that the internet connection at home is so unutterably crap that I can barely check my emails. Please assume that I am not reading your journal and comment somewhere to tell me if you do anything fabulous? Thanks. :) This is also the reason I haven't really been hitting the LJ comments as hard as I should so.. :( sorry gang, I still love you and it'll all be over in... two months?

In the weekend I went to [livejournal.com profile] shoeless_girl's going-away party and met her and [livejournal.com profile] manic_subbie, as well as [livejournal.com profile] amarynth and [livejournal.com profile] dryadwoman (whom- who?- I have just friended, so, um, hi guys! :D) and they were all absolutely LOVELY and beautiful and friendly and I had a great time. XD Although no-one could say my user name, which may be a sign that should I ever change it, I should definitely go for something in English. Um. Anyway, I drank a bit and sang under my breath ;) and chatted with tonnes of people, and come to the conclusion that Sarah's friends are awesome, as are she and Hayley, who I was pretty nervous about meeting :P.

Also in LJ-related news, I got Christmas cards from [livejournal.com profile] deutscheami and [livejournal.com profile] lady_larla! Which makes me start to wonder: have mine arrived yet? (I, uh, haven't sent the NZ ones yet. Doing it tomorrow. :P)

Hmmm... I guess I've been pronouncing it wrong too. Is the double l silent? I guess it would be if it is french?

I'm glad you came and that you had a good time - it was lovely to meet you! If you ever need a place to crash in Dannevirke
a) I'm sorry and
b) you're most welcome to stay with us :)

Luckily my life is very very drab. Um.... Won Nanowrimo, haven't edited much.

Will have to find full time work because I can't do my teaching diploma until midyear intake...

And thats about it...

whom- who?- I have just friended

I'd go with Whom there myself.

Although no-one could say my user name

I say Label men toose in my head though I'm sure that's wrong.

La Belle Menteuse? The Beautiful Mind?

We-ell, sort of, but actually what most people- I don't recall if you said it but I know Hayley did- seem to be having trouble with is the "teuse"- it kind of rhymes with "hers", only, um, more french? :P

*snicker* now, now, you live there, you can't be snarky about it any more...

Fabulousness? Well, it's been confirmed that I am indeed going to college to get more knowledge, instead of Mars next year. Other than that, nothing fabulous.

Your card hasn't arrived as of yet (and I've been accosting the mailman for a week). Which mans that if I send yours now (as I've been being dillatory in my card making), it'll probably get there about....february, probably. whoops.

Is your ID in french? In that case, I have absolutey no idea how to say it and have probably been butchering it all along. I've been thinking it more as phonetic english. Then again, I took spanish.

La belle menteuse, right? It's French, surely (I must have gotten something out of four years in this language).

Nothing really going on in my life. Studying for exams (suck). Finishing college applications (suck). Almost Christmas break (yay!).

Congrats on winning NaNo! :D

Totally, actually ;) La, as in do re mi; Belle, kind of like bell but nsort of... frenchy on the end; men to rhyme with bonbon; and teuse rhymes, sort of, with hers. Sort of. Teuse is the one everyone seems to be having trouble with, you're not the only one saying "toose" :P

:) Well, hopefully you'll enjoy it- although admittedly it's not as cool as Mars. :P

*sob* Oh, NZ Post, why must you hate me so? XD hey, February cards are fab. :P And it'd probably be January anyway, because I sent mine a verrrrrrry slooooow way (although they did have, like, an arrive-in-time-for-Xmas-world-wide guarantee)

hahah well spanish would probably be closer than English... this is kind of how:

Oh, and oops: la belle menteuse meaning beautiful liar (the "the" is there, but it's not always used in french. mens is mind or brain, I think, but menteur/euse (masc/fem) is liar.

Goooood luck for exams and college apps! I don't know how you guys stand the pressure...

It's not exactly fantastic yet either :)

Hmmm.. every couple of weeks probably? My partner has a couple of good friends who live there, and we know people in Eky and Palmy who we'd visit reasonably regularly.

Curious. Did you see this?

My friends and I have daily bitching sessions to get it out of our systems. :D And it helps that everyone's going through the same thing at the same time.

Also, hey! Your card just came. Thank you so very much for all the sentiments expressed within. (My mom's reaction to the postmark was pretty awesome too XD.)

I can send you one too if you don't mind in arriving in like, February.

Well, if you're ever at the Caltex on the weekend I'm the guy behind the counter with the goatee.

My point is that even Woodville is smaller and crappier than dannivirke ;)

Yesterday's mail was awesome. Aside from some neat mailings from various assorted and asundry places, I GOT YOUR CARD. *dances* Further proof that saying summat about something will bring about its hapenning.

Hehe, try having an Irish user-name, which everyone think is pronounced "cabayste", "ryhming with "paste". It's actually pronounced "ka-vousch-ta", and it's the Irish word for "cabbage." Go the non-English user-names!

Was real fun hanging out with you and Mims last night! We have to do it more often. Man, I'm still feeling sick from that cheesecake...
