Music meme
Feb. 2nd, 2006 07:28 pmBecause my love for music memes is deep and wide, plus I leave Wellington in five days. Also I'm obsessively refreshing
rageprufrock for the second 14 Valentines story, so hey. Ganked off
sennical.
Open iTunes/iPod or Windows Media Player to answer the following. Go to your library. Answer, no matter how embarrasing it is.
How many songs: 4808. This isn't the whole library, just my playlist, but it does have most of my stuff in it. Also, my playlist is like five years old and has a LOT of duplicates on it. I'm looking forward to getting a new computer and fixing it all up properly. *bounce* Which reminds me I have to burn all the music off this comp onto a DVD soon...
Total time: 308 hours and change, which seems... kind of large? Maybe I'm not reading it right.
Sort by song title:
First Song: "Growltiger's Last Stand" From Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The reason it's first is it actually has the quotation marks in the filename. Don't ask me...
Last Song: Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie.
Sort by time:
Shortest Song: "They Go The Mustard Out" from the Once More With Feeling OST, 17 seconds. :D!
Longest Song: "Ode To Joy", Beethoven, 23:39.
Sort by artist:
First Artist: "Unknown artist." (LA song by Beth Hart. But "Unknown" goes on for aaaages and includes Paul Simon and Cabaret and Shrek and allsorts.) First actual artist: 3 Doors Down.
Last Artist: Zoe Hart, who was (presumably) Child Cosette in some Les Mis production, since she's singing Castle On a Cloud. Again, last actual artist: Zed. *AMUSED*
Sort by album:
First Album: "Unknown Album." After the, again, tonnes of these, "1" (The first disc we uploaded onto the computer, presumably) which I have a sneaking suspicion is actually the same album
sennical has in this position; the Beatles' collected works, which are collected by year, so "1962-1966 [Disc 1]".
Last Album: Zanna, Don't! I think
lordofchaos sent me a song from this and it's hilarous. :D
Top Three Most Played Songs: Um, because I'm doing this on the family computer, this is more "songs all six-to-eight of us love," and the top three are:
121 (!!!) plays, "Redemption Songs" by Bob Marley and the Wailers
94 plays, "Home Again" by Shihad (LOVE this song a lot.)
89 plays, "No Woman No Cry" by Bob Marley and the Wailers.
I find this very anthropologically interesting, so I'm going to do... some more:
Top three songs that I think I have contributed more than half the plays to:
55, "Killer Queen" by Queen
52, "Road Trippin'" by RHCP
50, "Delight" by Bic Runga
Top three songs that I'm definitely the only one to have played:
43, "Lydia" by Fur Patrol. I like this song a lot.
35, "If She Wants Me" by Belle and Sebastian
27, "The Lady is a Vamp" by the Spice Girls
Top three songs I definitely uploaded onto the computer:
78, "Let it be," the Beatles
(A whole bunch of Queen starting with) 66, "The Show Must Go On," Queen
50, "Delight", Big Runga.
First song that comes up on Shuffle:
"Don't Phunk With My Heart", Black Eyed Peas. *blush*
Search:
"sex," how many songs come up? - 3.
"Sexy Sadie", The Beatles
"Sexed Up," Robbie Williams
"Bodies," The Sex Pistols
"death," how many songs come up? - 45. Forty songs by Death Cab For Cutie, plus
"Homecoming: The Death of St Jimmy/East 12th St/Nobody Likes You/Rock" by Green Day (and may I just say? A totally unnecessarily long song title)
"Fantine's Death: Come to Me" from Les Miserables
"Creeping Death" by Metallica
"Death of the First Born" from The Prince of Egypt
"All Eyez on Me" by 2pac (NOT ACTUALLY MINE) from an album which has "deathrow presents" in it or something.
"love," how many songs come up? - 247. Notably/Interestingly/Randomly:
"Freddy My Love" from Grease
"As Lovers Go" by Dashboard Confessional
"Do You Think We Could Fall In Love" from Zanna, Don't!
"Bye Bye Love" by Simon and Garfunkel
"Love" by the Smashing Pumpkins
"you," how many songs come up? - 494. *g* Again, notably or interestingly:
"Nothing Wrong With You" by the Finn Brothers
"Will You Be My Girl?" by jet
Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced?" album
"Smile Like You Mean it" by The Killers
"I Want You To Want Me" by Letters to Cleo
"You" by Bic Runga
Well. That was fun. *g* Also. HEY! If you want to see me before I leave, book me up now because my weekend is insane. :P

Date: 2006-02-03 09:41 am (UTC)Just to let you know I DID get that comment about your original fiction and will try to read it but I'm sort of trashed right now so it's... not a good time. BUT AM FEELING VERY GUILTY ABOUT IT.

Date: 2006-02-03 07:47 pm (UTC)Don't feel guilty about it. I've had two good sets of comments, one leading me to do a paragraph by paragraph trawl for passive sentances (now to look for passive scenes... sigh).
When you do get a look, general 'yup thats a chapter shape there' or 'no, that character feels unreal' would be nice.
