... or, this week on New Zealand television:

Bones 1x09: The Man In the Fallout Shelter
Hodgins: (to Zach) Your robot reminds me of you. You tell it to turn, it stops. You tell it to stop, it turns. You ask it to take out the garbage, it watches reruns of Firefly.

Commander in Chief 1x07: First Scandal
President Mackenzie Allen: ... do you know how many more students would be able to go to college if there was an interest-free student loans policy?

interest-free student loans for students remaining in NZ after graduation were implemented here last year. I hope I don't need to explain the Firefly reference, people.

In other words: Mackenzie Allen is Helen Clark, only with kids.

Helen Clark running America. Wouldn't that just be the best thing ever?

*grin* I love TV night and picking up things like that. :) Helen Clark running America? Could be fun, would she survive or would the Americans not know what hit them? methinks the latter..

The country wouldn't know what had hit them.

Better yet, give them our whole Parliament. A transsexual, a couple of gay Cabinet Ministers, women in all the important roles, Maori holding the balance of power...it'd be brilliant.

*chokes* That would indeed be awesome.

Except it might mean that we had to have theirs, in which case no f-ing way.

Oh, that's brilliant. I missed Bones on wednesday sadly. Also, Helen Clark would do a more awesome job than George Bush, completely.

Helen Clark as President of America... that's just an image that doesn't fit. However, it does crack me up.

(Anyone able to visualise it?)

Apparently this is an image that really has an appeal to a certain sector of my flist.

...can't say it bothers me, either. :D

She's just too /human/ to be involved in American politics. *laughs*

Not saying I wouldn't like to see it, though. :)
