How this works:

Ok, Tui, I very much doubt this counts as a "fandom question" per se, but I've been meaning to ask this for some time. You're a Belle and Sebastian fan, yeah? As am I, but I'm a bit of a B&S "greenhorn" and I'm wondering what albums I should go out and buy...or maybe just get out of the Library and put on my iPod, cos I'm a cheapass. ;)

Mims made me a mixed CD a while back with This is just a modern rock song on it, which I am absolutely in lust with, and my workmate is also a fan and regularly brings in Dear Catastrophe Waitress to play at work. But yeah, just wondering what albums you have and which ones you'd recommend...and what particular songs stand out for you.

Do they have a Best Of collection at all? I noticed one time while browsing in Sounds they have one particular album that's a double disk, but I can't remember for the life of me which one it is.

I wish I could help more, but I'm not a really thoroughly versed B&S fan, although I do really like what I know of them. I have DearCatastrophe Waitress and a couple of other tracks and that's it. :-/ Um, I've heard really good things about Tigermilk, and one of my favourite tracks ever is "If you're feeling sinister." I also really like "This is just a modern rock song," "She's Losing It," and "If you find yourself caught in love."
