Also, hey, a meme to commemorate the last three days of my holidays (and coincidentally, the first three days of spring! About time.)

That five things meme: ask me for a list of fives, fannish (like Five times Nita Callahan almost used her powers to speed up entropy) or personal, since I don't think I've done one of the get-to-know-me memes for awhile, or possibly ever.

I actually - heh - I actually kind of enjoy treble, because I did a lot of position work early on with the viola and I think that the tone you can get out of a viola in that clef can be amazing, much more beautiful than the violin in the same ranges. But I completely agree that too much can be such a bad thing.

True--third and fourth position on the A string just sing.

My personal favorite piece that I've ever played on viola is the C.P.E. Bach C minor concerto...now that has some beautiful higher-range stuff, and also some absolutely wonderful low sounds...ah, that piece is amazing.
