Jan. 22nd, 2006 04:32 pmStill not dead! But busy, because in about two and a half weeks I'm moving back down to C-town so Very Much Under Pressure, etc. However! Two recs.
Civic Video in Courtenay Place. Although it's kind of misleadingly named- they no longer carry videos, at all, only DVDs- they have fantastic friendly staff and they're nice to you. :P I rang up earlier today to ask if they were carrying Angel S5, and the guy said that they did. I went in and it wasn't on the shelf and they'd actually put it aside for me- without me asking them, and without me identifying myself. And then the guy recognised me. So hooray for Todd and Josh at Civic Video, who are generally fabulous and not bad looking either.
The Chosen by Chaim Potok, which is probably my favourite book ever. Ever ever. If you haven't read it, go out right now and do so. It's about thirty years old, I guess, it's set in Brooklyn (New York, not Wellington) during and after the Second World War and it's about the friendship between two boys. And it's amazing.
