Sep. 2nd, 2007 07:10 pmI think I actually forgot to tell everyone I was going, but yeah, I went skiing this weekend, so sorry if anyone tried to get hold of me (
cabaiste84, sorry I didn't make it!) It was just me and my brother, plus the dad and two sisters from a family we know really well, so it was basically awesome. I had two great days of skiing on Friday and Saturday, and I OD'd on Neil Gaiman and SGA podfic. Which, by the way, is an awesome invention, and enabled me to last three days away from the internet with no cravings, or anything! Also eight or so hours in the car with my brother without KILLING HIM. At one point he asked me what I was listening to, and I made up a lie about a comic book podcast. Only kind of a lie, because I listen to comic book podcasts, I just... wasn't right then. But he backed off REAL quick after that, so it was quite successful.
I somehow managed to bring only Gneil and my phil textbook, completely accidentally too: I grabbed Stardust, Fragile Things and Anansi Boys on the grounds that they'd all be different from each other, which they are, but it was only when I got up there and realised that, hmmm... Anyway, I re-read Stardust in prep for the movie, and remembered how lovely it was, and how much I'm looking forward to the flick; and I got halfway through Fragile Things which I'm thoroughly enjoying, although it does make me wish I'd read Lovecraft to get the Cthulhu jokes.
What did y'all do this weekend?
PS, hair photos coming, it's just kind of gross and ski-helmety right now, which is like hat hair to the nth power.

No worries re: leaving, we're all busy people.

Date: 2007-09-02 10:09 pm (UTC)I saw the movie Stardust. It was quite good. Except for some of the romantic speeches which kind of made me gag but maybe that was just the cooing fangirls fourteen rows in front of me.

Date: 2007-09-03 10:58 am (UTC)I have a lamely high tolerance for romantic speeches and I love the book, so I'm really looking forward to it!
