Dear Self, three months ago,

Congratulations and thanks for labelling the box you put towels in! Since it's the only box you labelled with anything other than your name, I can only conclude that you magically figured out that, the morning after arriving back in Christchurch, your future self (me) would not have unpacked but would definitely need a shower anyway. Good job!

Yours unreservedly,
Me (your future self.)

Dear medium-sized glass salad/mixing bowl,

Please come back? large and small bowls miss you!

Me.

Dear Phil,

Thank you for waiving the pre-requisites to let me into HAPS302 (History and Philosophy of Science: The Scientific Method Debate). Also, thanks for giving me great advice for applying places like ANU for Honours.

Gratefully,
Me.

Dear History Dept:

See, that's how you get able students into your subject.

No love,
Me.

Dear College of Arts advisors,

You're nice but you're useless.

Affectionately,
Me.

Dear Tracey, College of Science advisor,

You're nice and you ROCK. Thank you for making sure I'll be able to graduate this year and walking me through the whole thing!

Heaps of love,
Me

Dear Studylink,

You su-hu-huuuuuck.

argh!
Me.

So you didn't get into that French History course after all?

Nope. I rang up, got as far as "I'd like to do HIST3 whatever and I've never done history be-" and he said "No, nuh-uh, not a chance, I won't even consider it and I don't want to hear what else you've done or what marks you've got. Baibai."

IMO this is bullshit but whatever, I never would have found HAPS if he hadn't said no and it's completely right up my alley.

That's very stupid of them. I'd have thought sheer mercenary bloody-mindedness meant they'd have wanted the funds you'd bring. Oh well, it seems it's turned out for the best.

My partner came straight into 2nd/3rd year history papers one year and pretty much killed in history honours class in the next year...in conclusion Canterbury might want to rethink its policies.

Well, they would have been happy to let me do 200 level. I just needed 300 level points, so. :-/

He did a year long postgrad diploma( which you can convert into a BA hons if you do an honours year) so 2 second + 1 3rd year courses in the first semester (and the reverse in the second year), having never done a history paper before.

Bwahahaha, labelling prowess!

Totally interested in the scientific method History/Philosophy course (since it happens to be the topic of my partner's PHD).

It was the ONLY box I labelled, and I got up this morning and was like "Shit, I'm going to have to unpack before my shower", and then I was staring at the massive pile of boxes and - one of them said towels! I don't remotely know what I was thinking but I was thrilled.

I'm really looking forward to it now actually - it turns out there's a subject, only available as a minor, that offers three courses - cultures of inquiry and the scientific method debate 1200-1700 and the scientific method debate 1700-present. They all look super-cool! I really regret not knowing about the papers in first year, actually.

Am in Queenstown at the moment. Very Pretty. Did you get my email? rather than posting stuff here for the world to see, I'll just say check gmail and email me back?

*hugs*
