So, I think I mentioned I started knitting? Well, I have since acquired an account at Ravelry and you can find me (surprise, surprise) at labellementeuse. I've been knitting, uh, probably more than I should - check out some of my work at my flickr, if you aren't on ravelry (and if you aren't, and you knit or crochet, you really should be! I am really really impressed with it - it has all the friends and communities functions of LJ, you can blog there too, and its free pattern collections are great - you can search for projects by yarn as well and see what other people have done and how they've modified things. I was expecting it to be basically a pattern database, but it's not that at all!

KNITTING!

You freaking legend! I had no idea you were a knitter. :D I started knitting again about six months ago...have so far made a hottie cover, a peggy-square blanket for my friends' baby and I'm working on a scarf. Which is taking forever, but it'll be gorgeous (and so waaaarm) when it's done!

Those arm warmers are fab! How long did those take you to do? And did you use four needles?

I go to a knitting group at Southern Cross with Nik and Miriam every Monday night. You should totally come along when you're next in Welly!

Well, I just started again, so. You couldn't really call me a knitter yet!

Actually, I think a hottie cover is going to be my next move, since I have all this yarn that I don't know what to do with, but might be fun as a hottie cover. Or, um, dishcloths.

The arm warmers - they're more handwarmers rly, but you could make the arms longer and make them gauntlets or whatever - are from this ppattern (http://snailspirals.blogspot.com/2007/12/basic-fingerless-mitts.html), and that pattern does call for them to be knit in the round but I knit them flat just because I couldn't be bothered learning how to knit in the round just for them. :P They took me about a day, but bear in mind I didn't do much else that day. Still pretty quick though.

I totally will! it sounds like heaps of fun.

You should! In fact, you should just so you can play around on Ravelry, haha! It's a blast.
