And, wow, another embarassing TV moment: Erica Cerra (Jo from Eureka) and Sarah Shahi (of Life and L Word fame) are not the same person. But wow, separated at birth much? *marvels* (I watch both Life and Eureka and it seriously took me until right now to figure this out.)

And since I'm talking about it: I'm watching Eureka S2 and, wow, it's really enjoyable. I always loved Jo and Zoe and Henry and Fargo; meanwhile Boring Beverly seems to have left the show, Formerly Boring Allison has picked up character depth and some chemistry with Jack, and Really Irritating Stark is less irritating (having lost his job) and has become purely entertaining now that his chief function in the show is to serve as the third corner of the Carter/Blake triangle. And I normally find love triangles really REALLY annoying, but this one is handled really interesting, I think because the presence of Kevin means that Allison and Stark have to interact and be civil and it's rewarding watching them get along and deal with their issues. So anyway, highly recommended!

I like bastards who do the right thing. And are secretly not entirely bastards. I also blame this on SGA. (I blame a lot of things on SGA.) And I love the way Stark has definite chemistry with Allison-- but he's also totally using this to get to study the artifact/Kevin. I don't doubt he actually cares about Kevin-- he's just also still obsessed. I think the Jack/Allison vibe started cooling off after the episode with the dreams, after their fight. And I am okay with that. And I love Zane-- he's hilarious.

There's a lot of great Nathan-Henry as well as Jack-Henry interaction this season, although I agree, I wish there was more Henry. Knowing what we know makes some of the innocent things they say so ominous! And I haven't seen the season finale yet but I can't wait for this to explode. When you get to episode 10, there's a moment at the end that made me FLAIL.

Actually, I suppose I do adore Rodney. But, ugh, I can't help it, he's one of us! I think I deplore the way these assholes are almost admired by their own source text? And while Rodney definitely has leading-man syndrome in the can't-ever-fuck-up way, I guess it's redeemed by the fact that the bits where he's actually an asshole to specific people tend to be condemned, not admired. Anyway, I totally agree with everything you say about Stark. (I have finished and have Things to Say about the end of the season! But I'm not sure if you're done yet.)

I would disagree with the can't-ever-fuck-up thing-- Doranda was definitely a giant fuck up, and so was the one first season where they lost the ZPM.

I have also finished! I... liked it? Mostly? But I have some definite Issues with the end. Like, why was their excuse for shutting out Carter that he'd tell the DoD? Since when has Carter ever shown an inclination to appeal to the government about anything? And why did Henry feel the need to involve Beverly? He could have rigged the system and trigged the lockdown without her there to confuse everything.

OTOH, I love Carter and Stark working together. ♥ And Taggart and Zane and Jo and everyone at the party.

I know and I remember those, but - I don't know. I think this is in the context of my resentment about the way Sam was never allowed to perform any actual science through Season 4: nothing can get in the way of how cool and important John and Rodney are. (And yeah, I know this is what some fans were looking for, but I *love* the McKay and Carter bitchy dynamic that they had going on all her appearances on the show previously and I seriously missed it. :-/)

I agree with all your comments on the finale - it seemed like such a rushed, ill-planned affair compared with a season that was totally awesome. Also, THAT BETTER NOT BE HENRY LEAVING THE SHOW. I CAN'T HANDLE THAT. I also can't handle "will you marry me" because, OK: people who get married and get divorced and then get married again get divorced again, unless they actually ADDRESS the issues that ruined their marriage the first time round. Argh. Also, they didn't address the DOES HENRY HATE CARTER STILL!? thing. The moments at the party were pretty great tho - I loved Jo doing the Carter thing with Zane and Fargo and Zoe was cute (although where was the BF in all the rumblings?)

I can see how that would be annoying, yes. I've never been able to get through SG-1, although I intend to try again this summer; the team just doesn't click for me as well as SGA. But the thing is that I view John and Rodney as giant dorks, boys with their toys, who are essentially fumbling their way through impossible odds and a war that's kind of their fault. I love that the entire Atlantis expedition seems to be made up of misfits.

I have to believe that Henry will be back. Have to. I was also confused about the hating Carter thing, an also the fact that Carter seems to get random flashbacks but that never went anywhere. And I don't approve at all of Stark asking Allison to marry him again; you're definitely right and I can't see it NOT imploding again. Also, it seems to me that he's asking because he wants a family, not a romantic relationship, which I know seem odd but as far as I can tell they've just been flirting heavily all season without actually renewing the romantic part of their relationship, and it seems weird to me to propose marriage without that element present.

I love Taggart's bitterness about the Jo/Zane thing.
