Frabjous day, etc, sat my last exam today. *twirls madly* Since 12:30 today I have:
- cleaned my room (!!!!)
- done about 12000 loads of washing
- knitted several starts at a peggy square for [livejournal.com profile] sixth_light and repeatedly frogging it because I'm trying to do shifting sands cable and, wow, that shit is hard. Also I'm totally incapable of reading instructions properly so I got it wrong a couple of times. I think I'm in the swing of it now though!
- watched a bunch of SG-1 eps (concurrently with the other stuff). The later seasons because I can't watch the show if it doesn't have Vala in it anymore.

Why am I so productive only after exams have happened? In other kntting-related news, I finished a hat yesterday (instead of studying for my exam but hey) - it is a cool, variegated blue beret and at some point I'll take photos and write a bit about all the stuff I had to learn to do for it because even though there were a few probems I'm pretty pleased with it. I want to try it again soon with an unfelted yarn. And I want to figure out how to modify the pattern so I can do it with this cute rose yarn I bought recently. (Holding it double might be the solution but I'm not sure I have enough yarn for that...)

Tomorrow I have to - this seems to help [livejournal.com profile] cactus_cat, I don't know if it's everyone watching and knowing how much you're failing at what you're supposed to do, but I think the public humiliation will do it for me anyway - tomorrow, right:
- dig out laptop bag from garage and see if new laptop will fit in it.
- PACK. If laptop bag fits new laptop take it, if not BE BOLD, LEAVE IT BEHIND. YOU DON'T NEED CLOTHES, FUTURE SELF, HONESTLY. That way you will be able to take the bus to the airport and spend $1.90 instead of $45. Also, more room for wool and knitting needles.
- vacuum room, living room, hall.
- change sheets.
- return not-yet-overdue library books and way-too-overdue BSG dvd.
- catch plane to Wellington for a week! Yay!

ETA: AND FINALLY if I read one more fucking SGA fic with a snide comment about Sam, about how life is so much easier on SG-1, about how she's secretly dumber than Rodney, about how she's incompetent, or about how she JUST DOESN'T UNDERSTAND ATLANTIS EVIL BLONDIE, I will CUT A BITCH. JESUS CHRIST. I mean it's not even the fic that is a full on Sam-hate tirade - that's you know, whatever. It's the bitchiness in otherwise totally great fics that makes me want to SCREAM. OK, Sam spend 10 years on SG-1, she is very very clever and she's also actually very nice and, sorry kids, she has saved the world a few times. She really does understand the world-saving pressure. STFU.

Should I take it from the frequent references to cutting a bitch that you've started watching the Dave Chappelle show?

Somehow lack of school translates to mad productivity for me as well; yesterday I abruptly decided I was going to sew a new dice bag and embroider Cthulhu onto it, and spent the entire day working on it. This is just the sort of attitude that academia fails to inspire, and I have no idea why.

Oooh, love! Now I wish I could embroider. You should make several and sell them on etsy. :)

I learned in about an hour. It is not fancy, but it takes FOREVER; naturally, it didn't help that I decided to design the embroidery myself. There is a shocking and appalling lack of Cthulhu embroidery designs on the internet.

Cthulu dice bag! What a brilliant idea. I actually saw a couple of dice bag patterns when I was tooling around on ravelry and totally plan to queue them, even though I don't own dice right now :P

Hmm... I don't know why it helps. Writing things down always helps me, and the internet is always there... I guess there's a public humiliation aspect, but I had never really given it conscious consideration!

I can't even remember who started doing the list thing first, me or Sarah. *shrugs* One of us got the idea from the other, I think.

Probably it's the accessibility of LJ-as-notepad, too, yeah - but there's still a difference for me between posting here and writing on the virtual notebook I have on my desktop, you know?
