Things to do before day-trip to Hanmer

1. Dig out chilly bag and freeze some icecubes to put in it.
2. Dig out togs and make sure they're clean.
3. Clean out backpack, find two clean towels, and a tupperware container to put my shampoo in. (Lush Godiva shampoo/conditioner bar, I love it for its size and convenience.) Also pack knitting, hair brush, book, etc.
4. Wash hair!
5. Pack things for picnic lunch:
- bread knife
- butter knives
- teaspoons
- in the morning: peel and stick plenty of carrots for lunchbox
- purchase at pak 'n' save (pending what other people are buying) 1.5l bottle of water, hummus, avocado, fruit (apples and nectarines), something snacklike yet healthy (hah), bottle of wine?, bread, yoghurt
6. Create a couple of playlists, charge phone and ipod.

Am I missing anything?

Good point! Although one of the girls I'm going with had a traumatising hanmer+snow experience (driving home with a restricted-license driver and a space saver spare tire) so I'm not convinced it's such a good idea. ;)

Hmm, well the only time I was ever in Hanmer when it was snowing I wasn't driving, but I don't recall any problems. It remains one of my all-time fondest memories, though, so while YMMV personally I think a bit of road angst is worth the pay-off!
