I'm excited to have you write for me! The number one thing you need to know is that I’ve participated in a lot of exchanges and I’ve read a lot of fanfic and I’m pretty relaxed about what you give me because I care a lot about you having fun, so feel free to go off the rails a bit, do something creative, do something sadder or more difficult or more kinky or less tropey and ridiculous or MORE tropey and ridiculous or something you wouldn’t normally do in an exchange - do what your heart tells you. (But if your heart tells you to follow my prompts, don’t worry, I am excited about them, too.) More stuff under the cuts!

GENERAL LIKES
- I like stories that make me Feel Things, and I’m OK if sometimes those feelings are complicated and not all the way happy. (Although I also like the stuff that’s unabashedly all the way happy.) I like tropes played straight and tropes that are inverted, questioned, played around with unexpectedly. I like fanfic that explores what happens when people fail or make mistakes, and whether, and how, they can resolve them. I do like shippy fic a lot, but I also enjoy gen - even though lots of the likes I talk about here are usually seen in shippy fic, I like them in gen, too.
- breakup-makeup/getting back together stories are favourites of mine. I never get tired of reading those plots. I love the agony of the break-up and then the cautious learning to trust again. I love people holding themselves apart because they’re in pain. And I love the sense of recreated love, new, more honest, better relationships that have genuinely resolved what was wrong with the first relationship, whatever that was - secrecy, dishonesty, lack of self-acceptance, lack of communication, differing expectations, whatever - relationships that are stronger because they resolved those problems. Starting years after the breakup and just focusing on the getting back together is good for me :)
- I love the classic slash tropes, especially fake dating, wake up married, kidfic, emotional misunderstandings, pining. Wacky dilemma tropes like bodyswap, sudden mind reading, cursed to tell the truth, etc are also really fun for me. I’m especially fond of established relationship, navigating relationship problems inside a steady relationship. I also like the classic first-time sex experiences that are treated as casual but gradually become serious and feelingsy, as well as inarticulate-about-feelings people accidentally bumbling towards a relationship dynamic they don't fully understand.
- I like a range of different tones, many different styles of AU, etc. I like reading stuff close to the tone of whichever canon and I like reading stuff that takes those characters and puts them in stories of different tones - darker, lighter, different contexts, pornier, etc
- I love canon-divergence AUs where one thing happened differently and then …
- I’m happy to receive porn. My significant porn squicks are bloodplay, scat, and daddy kink. Dubcon is not a squick. You can feel free to be adventurous here if you wish.
GENERAL DISLIKES
Please don't focus on or ideally refer to parental death. I find stuff set in ICU rooms, especially things where a character is on a ventilator, very distressing. Other than that there’s not much I truly DNW other than sickfic, deathfic, and rape recovery as a plotpoint. Sometimes I struggle with truly, unambiguously unhappy endings, but I don’t think characters breaking up is necessarily an unhappy ending - that can be happy or hopeful. Endings that are a bit unresolved, that leave questions, can be tantalising.

Praxidike Meng, Amos Burton
So, just so you know, I haven't read the books and am not *quite* caught up with the show (but will be by the time Yuletide comes out), but I was binging hard when I signed up and I love Prax and Amos just ... so much? So much. You're very welcome to incorporate anything from the books (or later in the show). I don't have a lot to add to this prompt! I would love something slashy but also would love some gen! Feel free to incorporate Mei. A canon AU where Prax stays on the Roci or one where Amos leaves the Roci would be fantastic, but hey why not also something where a few years down the track Prax returns and he and Amos have to renavigate their friendship/relationship? Options! So many!

I'm going to say just what I said last time I requested this: I don't have that much to add to this except to say how much I love these kids, whom I have adored for much of my life. I love sweet Briar with his hard edges and tender places and his worldly camouflage. I love Tris, covering herself with her own edges to protect herself (and also being a bit genuinely grouchy) and her soft heart for small children and ugly dogs. I love Daja's utter decency, that core of strength she has, her big arms and the beautiful delicate work she produces. (I also love Sandry btw, I just particularly wanted something about one of these three.) I've given you some fairly specific prompts up there - and would also be into anything with Tris and Briar getting together as adults - and/or someone in the Circle having a baby and then they ALL become parents - and and and - but honestly anything you come up with about them would thrill me.

I love Prax and Amos' relationship so much. I would love a story where Prax and Mei didn't leave the Rocinante and would be especially thrilled if Prax and Amos started exploring their relationship in different (... sexy) ways, but anything that goes deep on their relationship would be a joy. I really love Amos even though he's the kind of character I usually don't get on with - he is so straightforward and yet so complicated - and I love how he imprints on people whose morals he believes are superior to his. Prax is a more complicated character and I love that Amos protects Prax from himself (Amos being the one to shoot the doctor: ROMANCE!!!) but I would also like to see a moment where Amos understands Prax's strength and Prax protects Amos. I love everyone on the Rocinante/in this show so feel free to incorporate anyone else, there's nobody I have a strong dislike for or anything.
DNWs: I'm not interested in a focus on rape recovery or sickfic or deathfic. Please don't kill Mei! :)

Any combo of these characters would please me! I have been dreaming of the Briar/Tris story where Tris teaches Briar to read and they fall in love for many, many years, and anything on that theme would delight me so deeply. Then recently I re-read The Will of the Empress and remembered how tender and sweet and butch Daja is and fell in fond love with her romantic bumbling, and now I dream of Daja femslash - any sort - anywhen. OFCs are fine! I'd also love to read something, either gen or femslash, with Tris and Daja. Their relationship gets the shortest shrift in the books and something developing on it would delight me. I’d particularly love something set during or after the Circle Opens/Will of the Empress, when they’re a little older.
DNWs: please don't kill any of the Circle or their mentors, thank you!

Murderbot, ART, Amena, SecUnit 3
I don't need all these characters to appear - I love everyone in this bar so I just picked a few of my favourites and would honestly be ecstatic with anything you were excited to write in this fandom! That said, I am especially fascinated by SecUnit 3 and would love anything exploring it as it is independent for the first time - especially anything exploring its relationships with the other SecUnits in its team :( I am fascinated by the way a lot of the things that Murderbot thinks are "truths" about how SecUnits work might actually just be the way Murderbot and/or the Company work and I would love to see something exploring that - maybe in a fic where they get to know each other.
I think SecUnit 3 and Amena would also be a fascinating combo of characters! I feel like SecUnit 3 could be that tragic traumatised and misunderstood SecUnit that Murderbot thought cynically Preservation System would have been better able to deal with than cynical, self-actualised Murderbot, and I would like to see that, and also Amena dealing with SecUnit 3 in that context. Maybe a casefic where SecUnit 3 and Amena have to solve some low-stakes student crime Amena encounters. (Oh my god: fic where as part of its integration into society SecUnit 3 goes to university with Amena? And is like ... hanging out in the dorms learning to be a person? Who knows if Preservation even does university like that! But the CONCEPT!)
Also, of course, like everyone, I am obsessed with Murderbot and ART and want to see them hanging out! Maybe a slice of life as the whole gang travels back to Preservation, maybe with Amena tagging along. Maybe Murderbot and Art's first mission together! I'll see if I can come up with any more detail for my letter but I am just so excited about this fandom it's hard to be specific.
