Max is from this great old children's book whihc you probably had read to you when you were little, Where the Wild Things Are (http://www.harperchildrens.com/catalog/book_xml.asp?isbn=0064431789), illustration and writing by Maurice Sendak. If you can't remember it your local library will almost certainly have it. :)
