Okay, that was a lie. really I found it because it's part of the Yuletide project 2004, at http://www.yuletidetreasure.org Yuletide, on LJ at yuletide, is an annual Christmas gift project for rare fandoms- so Narnia, Ocean's Eleven (Danny/rusty HAHA), all sorts of other stuff. Little Women. Jane Austen. Dark is Rising (mmmbran/will/jane muahaha!) Anyway, because it's HUGE OMG, people have been reccing all over the place and that was one of the ones that have been recced EVERYWHERE. So i read and it, and was, like "OMG Lucy would ADORE this."
This is why I generally don't read fanfic - you get drawn in and next thing you know, hours have passed. Bah! (I did like the Dogma ones and a few of the "Dark is Rising" stories - I'm always surprised that no-one has picked up film or TV rights for DiR)
I have always wondered, though, just what the male slash attraction is for females.
Hmm. Slash. Well. how do you explain slash? Um. Well.
Actually, i have an idea: I think it' all down to a fundamental difference in attitude between men and women. okay? You can't understand, and i can't explain. (And actually plenty of girls don't like slash.)
You can't understand, and i can't explain Oh, wimp out, why don't you! ;-)
I know that there are plenty of chicks who don't like slash. What's significant, though, is that the bulk of writers (and, I suspect, readers) are female, in my experience.
How about you other slash fans? Why do you write/read slash?
Yep. But I actually do think it is something about the differences in mentality and attitude towards sex between guys and girls. *shrug* Of course, you're right about the bulk of writers and readers. It is in fact rare to find a guy writing slash- or, more precisely, slash with sex. In a G and PG rated sense, I suppose you find guy writers and readers in about the same proportion as you find them in fandom- that is, outnumbered. I mean, the trend probably remains, but I think that if fandom itself actually had more guys in it, the statistics, slash-wise, would probably be a little more balanced.
PS: the main slash I read FYI, is Remus/Sirius, and I read it because I really do believe it. Same reason I read ron/Hermione, right? I think they're an appropriate couple.

Thanks! :D
