Wow, the f-list really isn't joking about those earthquakes, is it?
*stands in the doorway*
In other news, I will be incommunicado except by txt from tomorrow until Monday. :) I'm going to Suzuki camp* and so will be in Masterton. Oh, you can text me, if you have my nuber (it's in some f-locked post, Lucy, if you still haven't got it.)
So yay.
Also, conversation I have to write down before I forget it:
T: (something something something) IT WAS FABULOUS.
Nic: *dies* Fabulous? If you were a guy you would so be gay.
Lucy: *IS TOTALLY UNABLE TO MOVE*
T: Um, yes. That is definitely true. *resits the obvious*
It made me LAUGH. *amused*
*it's like geek camp. But with violins.
ETA: Also. Want to know the meaning of life? Copperbadge tells us how. Too cool not to be linked. ;)

I don't get the second half of your comment. Explain??

Date: 2005-01-21 10:33 pm (UTC)Those violas can get pretty riled up.

Date: 2005-01-24 05:10 am (UTC)It was funny at the time. ;)
well, violas do have reason to be. Just look at the way violins treat us...

Date: 2005-01-25 05:09 am (UTC)See, the reason for viola jokes is this: violins know, deep down, that violas are FAR superior to them. So they're insecure. So tyhey make jokes about violas to try to feel better.
So really, viola jokes are compliments. Each musician moks they think they love. or something.

Date: 2005-01-26 03:17 am (UTC)Psh. Whatever. Keep dreaming. If you will notice, major pieces are most often written for . . . what's that I hear? Violins? Yep. You know, there're reasons why we get all the good music . . . better range, lovelier sound . . . our all-encompassing superiority.
I'm terribly sorry to break the truth to you dear.

Date: 2005-01-28 05:17 am (UTC)the greater ,ajority of pieces are written for the violin because the violin is simple and easy to understand. Only truly great composers relaly understand the viola- like Douglas Lilburn and the drysdale overture. BEAUTIFUL viola solos. *awe*

You mean that because more people like us and like listening to us that we are so often lauded?
By golly, I do believe you're right.

Date: 2005-01-29 12:55 am (UTC)Um. NO. Do you enjoy Spot books? I mean, as much as you enjoy Pratchett, say? See spot run. Run, Spot, run. Yes, it's easy to understand. That doesn't make it good, or ever pleasant. ;)
THIS IS SO FUN. xDD
Date: 2005-01-29 01:01 am (UTC). . .
Well, I mean, I don't even need to say anything now. You've basically proved my point for me.
Not a good analogy, I'm afraid. Try again.
Re: THIS IS SO FUN. xDD
Date: 2005-01-29 01:19 am (UTC)RUN.
RUN NOW, FAR, FAR AWAY.
*SICS F-LIST* (only not, because I would never do that to you.... but still...)

Are you still looking for a laptop? Email me if you are - I have a lead...

Date: 2005-01-28 05:18 am (UTC)On the other hand, there's nothing more attractive than a really skilled musician.
:P I've been stuck sans computer- Dad took it off us, and then before that it was broken. I'm probably not looking for a laptop any more, because Dad's been throwing tantrums- thanks for the thought, though... :)

And it's the "sound" that's sexy, anyway. A truly skilled musician would understand that. :-p
(Unless your a cello fanatic and then it's- no, no, that's right, you're a minor, we dont go there)
Shame about the PC thing - I dare not think what you were using it for...

Date: 2005-01-28 09:11 am (UTC)Excuse me, "your," you're, "dont", don't. Unless you meant to use the French dont there. *pedantic*
*eyeroll* the PC wasn't broken, the connection was broken. Dad was trying to do something complicated to it and fucked it up.

Date: 2005-01-24 05:14 am (UTC)I was at geek camp 'cause it's fun and I have heaps of friends there and it's probably my last one and WAH I'M GOING TO MISS THEM. I <3 my music friends...
Hmm, french girlfriend... okay, I could be jealous of that. ;)
AND HELLO, you didn't "fuck it up." Possibly the reason we're so sceptical about it is that I've read Sons and Lovers, and you've read sons and lovers, and even you think your relationship sounds like the one between Paul and Miriam, okay? *stressed*
Re: hello
Date: 2005-01-27 07:43 am (UTC)love me
Re: hello
Date: 2005-01-28 05:15 am (UTC)You know, YOU were the one who made that comparision. I've NEVER used S&L as a comparision to ANY other part of your life (I mean, I didn't finish it either, so...) and the reason we seem to talk about it a lot is becuse there is this one issue that's really important to you that we talk about a lot.
But you know what, I was thinking the other day, and I was thinking I wasn't really being supportive about this. And I decided that made me a total bitch, and a crap friend. So you're dating Martin again. :) Congratulations. :D
(Also, this reminds me of another book by Alyssa Brugman. A girl's friend has moved out of home and in with her boyfriend, who the girl thinks is a loser.* She tries to explain that to her friend, but her friend doesn't see it that way, so the girl goes and complains to her mother and asks for advice. Her mother tells her to be supportive; the girl replies that doesn't that mean that she's not looking after her friend? Her mother points out that whatever she says, her friend is going to move in with this fellow- and if they fight about it, not only will it destroy their friendship** but that, if the relationship does go wrong, her friend won't come to her for advice- because it would be like admitting she'd been right all along, allow her to sit in judgement. A really caring friend, said the mother, would make sure she wasl always there for her friend when she was needed- instead of cutting her off when she might need her the most.)
Um. Email. Okay. it's kinda herd at the moment because the computer's broken. Can't you just checkback here More often??? :)
XXOO
Tui
PS: I got your text this morning. Know any nice 23 year old dectectives?? :D
*I don't think Martin's a loser, that wasn't the bit it reminds me of.
**I don't think it would ruin our friendship either.
