Scrubs is trying to kill me with the slash.

This is a Bad Thing. I think I am ill. I have slasher's disease.

*paranoid* I SEE SLASHED PEOPLE!

I directed that a few aeons ago and tried real hard to play that side of it as unrequited love on Antonio's part i.e. Bass. was aware of it and played on it to get what he wanted, but he was strictly focussed on Portia. And then I cross-gendered Salanio and Solario [aka Salarino in some versions] (the Salads) and gave one of them (whichever is with him in the Gaol scene) an unrequited lust for Antonio, to which he was totally oblivious. Lotsa fun! (That was a production with cellphones and power suits and the Rialto Bar and Grill was their regular meeting place - I do love what you can do to Shakespeare ;-)

AHAHAH that's so coo. You must have had a real supportive cast, though... ;)

And you're right about what you can do to Shakespeare- it's so flexible that by now its less of a body of work, per se, than aa medium. I love watching productions for that reason, I guess, that you never know what's going to happen. Did you see Summer Shakespeare this year??
