Jun. 19th, 2005 04:05 pmI am studying in the library.
When I say "studying" really I mean looking out the window, messing with my hair, banging my head repeatedly against the desk, going on trips to get food and hot chocolate (which no I did not drink in the library), and, only when I have exhausted all other options, occasionally c\glancing at the notes I'm supposed to be reading.
It would doubtless help if I understood the Local Standard of Rest EVEN A LITTLE BIT, but I think I am resigned to just skipping that- I mean, I've looked and looked at it and I just don't get it. So, well, it's lucky all the long questions in this exam are optional- there are three sections, each worth 20%; one is multi-choice on both topics, and the other two are topic-specific and they have three long questions each, of which I have to answer two. So I shall simply not answer anything about the LSR and that will be FINE, or it better be.
Anyway, this is why I am speaking to you at the moment, because I am trying to avoid study some more. :P So, how are you all, in yourself? What are you doing today? Where are you going with your life? And how's the lovelife? I expect you all to answer. ;)

He managed to be a key figure in their abolishing of the power of Veto in their UN.
I thought that was cool

Date: 2005-06-19 04:35 am (UTC)I'm writing three page rants on Maxis (makers of Sims2) and pretending I have inspiration to write. After that I think I'll go alphabetize my socks or something.
Or maybe I'll rant on lj's spell check, which is teh suck.
*g* Rincewind! Science of Discworld 3 came out but it's $60 and I cannot afford it, woe. And I don't really read the science bit, so I'm paying for half a book. (Which isn't to say I wouldn't have it if I had $60.)

Date: 2005-06-19 05:35 am (UTC)*snort* I've never bothered with spellcheck because I just assumed it was American (is it?) and, well, I boycott color. PLUS there's all that HTML which I bet would come up all red and squiggly underlined.
$60!!11 WTF? Oh, is it hardback? I still haven't gotten around to reading 1 and 2 even though I actually own one of them. >.> I do want to, but I always try to read the science and then I get headaches. *guilty*

3. Good job!
4. Oh, yes? *narrows eyes*
5. Thank you sincerely, another five minutes wasted well. :D
Hmm, I can't really get one this time of night... or anytime actually unless I want to go find a cafe in Christchurch somewhere, and I don't, I'm way too lazy. :P

3. No, that's the next week. Unless exams and wellington are what you want to do with your life, in which case things have changed since we last spoke. ;)
4. Oh, I had assumed such from our dinnertime conversation, like the way you were sitting next to your fella amicably. Although I do suspect you would be the sort of people who would, if they broke up, say "let's be friends" and mean it. And then be friends. Sort of disturbing, actually.

Date: 2005-06-19 11:52 pm (UTC)2. I spent around four or five hours in distracted studying of Math and Physics. And my mother dragged me bra shopping. I hate bra shopping. Because nothing ever fits me, and it sucks having a clerk look at my barely-an-A 32 70 chest and try to find something like that. There goes any self-esteem I had (rolls eyes). I hste bra shopping with a passion.
3. I got accepted on WISE, meaning, lucky me, as I am in my senior year of high school next year, I will also be taking a tuition-waived course at the University of Western Ontario. Which isn't bad, seeing as UWo is something like third in Canada, but. . . I'm such a masochist. Off to Quebec in a week. Pour ecole de l'immersion francais. --''
4. Lovelife? I asked the guy out, and he said "I don't know." Not "no," even, because I asked, and he was like "Whaaaaaa? NOO I DON'T MEAN THAT! I MEAN I DON'T KNOW!" *sigh*
no subject
Date: 2005-06-20 01:56 am (UTC)2. Meh, bra shopping. It takes so long and it's such a pain, bras don't fit anyone it totally doesn't matter what size you are. :P But also, you're really studying too much. o.O I've studied for six hours, total, in the past three years- a generous estimate- and then I did, like, an hour and a half yesterday. >.> And I'm going to do more this afternoon, I swear, or I'll lose half my astro credit and end up with a B, or something. Uncool. I already have 35% for it though and the exam's worth like 60 so...
3. Heh, that actually sounds really cool- and, er, I don't know what it's like in Canada, but here I've found university way easier than senior year. Also, I totally cannot believe you're going to be a senior this September. o.O
4. *sympathetic sigh* Dumbass doesn't know what he's missing out on, I bet. :P

Date: 2005-06-20 09:55 am (UTC)2)I've had the stressful day from nam- seems the internet was done over the whole entire country, which isn't so good when you've got a mass-ass poetry assignment due, and you need to email stuff from your home comp to Uni, and you don't even think to send it to your student address! Managed to the most part done (and put together a rather attractive cover page!), and the rest of it will be handed in tomorrow- which my lecturer knows about and is fine with. Sorting that out now.
3) Am kinda stressed, cos I'm was hoping to work full time at Whitcoulls after I finish my exams, but I don't think it's going to work out. I'm currently applying for other jobs, and ringing up other Whitcoulls in Christchurch in the hope of getting more hours. And, no, I did not spend an ungodly amount of money to get my degree, only to end up working in a bookstore. I'm just wanting to take a wee break, before I do my Honours next year.
4)Still single...but with a whole heap of infantile crushes, that I don't think are reciprocated. It sucks, cos as soon as I get to the stage of feeling happy with my singleness, something happens to make me feel all icky about it, and all my old insecurities about me and fellas start re-surfacing. But you don't need to hear all that...
All the best for exams! Going home to Welly when they finish?

Date: 2005-06-21 08:55 am (UTC)2. I hope you got that all in where it needed to be?
3. Meh, working. What hours are you working at that Whitcoulls? And do they, like, need someone else- or if you quite someone to take some of your hours? :P I sort of moderately need a job for next semester, or I won't eat next year. :P
4. Ah. I hate them. Very familiar with them. *huggles* Buck up!
Thanks, and you too! Yeah, I'm off home on the 28th and back on the 11th... barely anything of a break, especially because we're coming down here on the weekend before term starts to ski.
