Letting your flatmate use your computer, only to realise you have explicit McKay/Sheppard open in Firefox? One of those definitive Mintie moments.

(I got there in time, fortunately, but this is one of the flatmates that still likes me, I don't wanna endager that.)

My mum found explicit Man From U.N.C.L.E. fic open on my computer once. And she used to watch that show.

We don't talk about it.

aaaaahahah. The most uncomfortable conversation of my LIFE to date is probably the one I had with my father after he found explicit slash in my history when I was about fifteen. He said it "wasn't nice" and that I shouldn't read it; I said, sure, Dad, and made sure to always clear my cache after that. :P

rotfl :) my Dad borrowed my laptop not all that long ago, using the "other" account I've got set up on there, but unfortunately there was a draft John/Dean on the desktop by a friend who'd also borrowed the laptop. It was called "the sex". He's still not mentioned it...

Parents and the internet are just not a good combination. I live in TERROR of my parents figuring out livejournal, and my LJ isn't even particularly explicit.

Link me? I may have only seen about three episodes, but, what the hell, I'm rather drunk and they were the only two characters I really liked. (I also still have a deep desire to find AU fic where McKay never got that Marine out of his head, because, boykissing! Onscreen! And much funny! Did I mention drunkeness?)

You also may be amused by the fact that we ordered Hell tonight and it took so damn long to get here (one and a half hours - the first guy got lost, ended up in Lyttleton, and they had to send another) that we got our entire order doubled, and free, and the promise of tokens for free pizza to be sent to our address later this week. I would totally accept one-and-a-half-hour delivery times every time if it meant this amount of largesse. Mind you, the fact that I drank three beers in that timespan may have contributed to my acceptance. (If you want to know why, it was because Mike's parents gave us some really deeply shitty beer, and I embarked on a scientific experiment to find out how many you had to drink before it didn't taste like ass. Answer: more than four. I wasn't going further.)

Oh god, uh, I'm not going to link to that one because it was sort of short and context dependent. But I CAN give you some recs of the REALLYN AMAZING AND FABULOUS AND HEARTBREAKING:

MVP (http://www.trickster.org/speranza/cesper/MVP.html) by [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza

Freedom's Just Another Word for Nothing Left to Lose (http://www.kekkai.org/synecdochic/sga/freedoms_just_another_word.html) by [livejournal.com profile] synecdochic. Um, character death warning, but do NOT let that stop you. But don't read it when you're drunk. Read it when you're sober. AMAZING.

um, wait, let me rec you these sad and amazing things when you're sober. Try:

A Beautiful Lifetime Event (http://intimations.org/fanfic/stargate/lifetime_event.html) by [livejournal.com profile] astolat if you like KIDFIC

Bell Curve (http://glitterati.talkoncorners.net/fiction/bellcurve/bellcurve.html) by [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock if you like AUs where JOHN IS A STRIPPER to support himself through grad school and RODNEY IS HIS SUPERVISOR.

by [livejournal.com profile] frostfire_17 if you like AUS where Rodney is a billionaire and kidnaps John and then they fall in love, but not in a creepy stockholm kinda way.

Uh, how about you tell me your favourite kind of crack-addled AU and I like you to it? it would be EASY.

Mmmmmmm Hell's! How the hell do you end up in Lyttleton, though? Curlett's is like a major road.

I DO NOT KNOW. But it got us free pizza, so, whatever, it works for me.

Um, crack-addled AU? I generally go for the apocalyptic or semi-apocalyptic, but only when it's a reasonably happy ending, or the hope thereof. Like, bands of freedom fighters? Big kind. Or any sort of alternate history AU, but you knew that. Which is why Peshawar Lancers (alternate history + post-apocalypse + India) is like THE BEST BOOK EVER. Pa-moyemu, of course.

*snorts*

My husband once came across some SV Clark/Lex fic that I'd accidentally left open on my laptop. Thankfully, though, the one I opened wasn't overtly smutty/slashy or the embarrassment would have killed me since he'd never let me live it down. Soon after, I locked every bit of fic on my laptop ;P

Thanks for the fic recs, there's a couple there I haven't read!

I live in fear. (This is the reason my screen saver is set to come on and lock after 1 minute of idleness.)

Ahahaha, I got so lucky when they matched me with my roommate, because she would not blink twice if she stumbled across something like that on my computer.

It's kind of odd, really, because it turned out we were both incredibly steeped in internets fandom subculture etc., and you know? It's not like that's something you announce on the roommate matching form.
