Dec. 6th, 2007 09:28 amGod, my jobs have WORST TIMING EVER. Just as Subway is getting its a into g, monique from Starmart offers me full-time work. Subway technically offered first. OTOH, Subway already screwed me once, and Monique's been awesome, getting me as much casual work as she can; Subway want me to work pretty much seven days a week at stupid, shifting-roster hours, Monique's giving me six days a week on regular hours; and, well, Subway's paying me 11.25/hr and Monique's paying me 12.75/hr, which is freaking AWESOME pay for a summer job (min. wage here is 11.25). So I think I have to tell Subway. But, ugh: SO HARD. :-/ I feel really bad and mean! Someone tell me I'm not being a shit to them.

Date: 2007-12-05 09:07 pm (UTC)Unless you have made a commitment to Subway--as in, already had them schedule you--then it's just that, an offer. That's all. They are not depending on you. They are not going to be injured or sad because a potential minimum wage summer employee got a different job. They will hire someone else or give more hours to the people they've got.
Meanwhile, you will be taking an opportunity with better pay, hours, people, and treatment.
